We were quite civil at first, but eventually we had to hang up just to signal that we weren't keen on whatever he was selling. By the end of it, though, he was hurling insults! Unbelievable!

Received a call from someone purporting to be our energy provider, insisting they need to arrange for an engineer to come round. I attempted to return the call numerous times but the line's been dreadful each time. It certainly feels like a dodgy scheme!

They might try to pass themselves off as your energy provider, but make no mistake, they aren't who they claim to be. It's best to steer clear and not get involved with these dubious characters. I received a phone call from someone claiming to be with British Gas, stating that there was an issue with a meter reading I submitted recently and that an engineer would need to come out for a proper check. They started probing for personal details, which I found quite suspicious and declined to share, as surely my actual supplier has all the necessary information on file. The caller was rather insistent, which made me feel uneasy.

They insisted there was a problem with the meter reading and were keen to dispatch an engineer to sort it out. Their approach was overly aggressive. I suspect it’s a scam, plain and simple.
