4 yearsFor those wondering, Torcharch is actually a tiny business that doesn’t work directly with customers. Back in March 2022, the owner found out some con artists were pretending to be from Torcharch, using the name to pull off a recovery scam. They told victims they could get their lost investments back for a fee, but of course it was all a trick. Names like William Goodwin and Peter Davis seem to be made up. The real Torcharch boss has already flagged this to Action Fraud, the FSA and other official bodies.TorcharchWilliam GoodwinPeter DavisAction FraudFinancial Services Authority4 yearsLooks like SCY have switched their name to TORCHARCH!! I checked Companies House and they seem just as shady as Property Partnership, Ultraclass and the others linked to them. Not really surprised tho.SCYTORCHARCHCompanies HouseProperty PartnershipUltraclass4 yearsI’ve had a few calls from a Peter Hemingway about some ‘investment’ I supposedly made in Agri Capital through a broker named Capital Alternatives. Like someone mentioned back on 25.3.22, they also directed me to a guy called Hansraj, though I never bothered calling him. I’m pretty sure it’s a scam. TorchArch might be a legitimate business, but either these con artists have gone all out to create something genuine-looking or they’ve somehow got hold of TorchArch’s real phone number.Peter HemingwayAgri CapitalCapital AlternativesHansrajTorchArch4 yearsI've had quite a few calls from someone named Peter Hemingway about some "investment" I supposedly made with Agri Capital, through a broker called Capital Alternatives. Just like the comment from 25.3.22, they mentioned a guy called Hansraj, but I haven’t bothered to ring him back. Feels off to me, might be a scam. TorchArch sounds legit, but either these scammers have set up a proper company to look real, or they've somehow got access to TorchArch’s phone line.Peter HemingwayAgri CapitalCapital AlternativesHansrajTorchArch4 yearsSomeone pretending to represent SCY Insolvency Legal told me that the directors of Vinance PLC, which went under in 2015, were about to be prosecuted and claimed that the wines registered in my name could be sold via a firm called Hansraj Limited. After ringing up the original liquidator, I found out this was a clever scam. I almost got caught out but became wary when they asked for copies of my driving licence and bank details. Avoid any contact with these companies!SCY Insolvency LegalVinance PLCHansraj Limited4 yearsCant remember the name, wasnt really listening properly. They rang me about the forced liquidation of Square Mile Investments. Claimed they were assigned by the High Court because of some criminal case involving the director. They had info about me from when I was linked with the company in 2005. Got an email with an NDA to sign. Not really sure what to think of it all. They’ve rung me a few times trying to get a response, but I’ve just been ignoring the calls.Square Mile InvestmentsHigh Court4 yearsHonestly, I wouldn’t trust this number for a second. It just feels off. Steer clear!4 yearsJust like others mentioned, when I tried to get their contact info they were really hesitant to give it. Ended up blocking the number.4 yearsKeep getting calls non-stop about carbon credits, really annoying!4 yearsI've been inundated with persistent phone calls regarding carbon credits lately.4 yearsThe phone went off a couple of times then quieted down. After seeing what others have said on here, I’m relieved it didn’t keep going.4 yearsI got a call from a bloke who said his name was Hemingway and claimed to work for a liquidation outfit. He told me they’d received info from the courts about a firm called Harman Royce. Turns out, I’d accidentally put money into them a few years back, but it was all a scam.HemingwayHarman Royce4 yearsThe name Richard Walters rang a bell for me, linked to some dodgy outfit called The London Art Company - definitely a place to steer clear of! Also, I checked on the Companies House site, and it turns out SCY Liquidation has changed its name to Torcharch Ltd.Richard WaltersThe London Art CompanySCY LiquidationTorcharch LtdCompanies House4 yearsI kept getting calls from someone named Michael Davis at SCY Insolvency about helping me sell some old investments abroad. At first, it seemed like a good opportunity, but then I was put through to a firm in Watford called Hansraj Ltd. A chap called Richard Walters (0203 769 3412) rang me up and asked me to pay a few thousand pounds for insurance to cover risks, which I declined immediately. After that, I went ahead and blocked their numbers. Just as soon as they said that, the line went dead. Quite suspicious.London Capital and Finance4 yearsGot a call from someone named Michael Davis, so I dialed him back. He started on about a company I supposedly invested in going bust. I humoured him for a bit but something felt off. When I asked for more details, he got a bit short tempered and then handed me over to his so-called manager, who was no better. They said they'd send an email with all the paperwork I needed to fill out. Honestly, the whole thing just didn’t sit right with me.Michael Davis4 yearsOn the 15th of March 2022 around 11:26, I received a call from a man who said he was working with SCY Liquidations and handling the closure of the PROPERT PARTNERSHIP. To check if he was genuine, I gave him my email and requested he get in touch through that. When I recited my email and finished with …….shire.police.uk, he suddenly cut off the call. Since then, I haven’t managed to contact him again, and the number 01453 230700 EXT 130 goes unanswered most of the time. Sometimes someone picks up just to say 'Front Desk' before hanging up. Honestly, I advise steering well clear of this.4 yearsI got a call from someone named Michael Davies using this number, saying he was from Scy Insolvency Solutions Limited. He told me I might be able to get a refund from a company, but the thing is, that company had gone bankrupt back in May 2014!Michael DaviesScy Insolvency Solutions Limited4 yearsI got a call from someone saying they could help me recover cash from a compulsory liquidation. Thing is, the company went into liquidation ages ago and everything was sorted properly through the post. So this call seemed really dodgy to me and definitely raised some red flags.4 yearsSome bloke rang me up saying the company that acted as the go-between for an earlier investment scam had gone bust. They said it's in compulsory liquidation now and wanted details about what I had invested and lost. Thing is, it’s already been liquidated. They also promised to send an email to prove who they were but I never got anything.4 yearsGot a phonecall today at 16:10 from 01453 230700, and I’m pretty sure it’s a scam, maybe even risky. They were talking about compensation related to an old investment I made with European Fine Wines, which actually went bust about 5 years ago or even more. Abbott Fielding were the liquidators handling it all. Earlier, about 12:50, my missus got a call from exactly the same number since she had a wine portfolio with EFW as well.European Fine WinesAbbottFieldingEFW4 yearsSo this person said they could help us get money back from English Fine Wines, which went bust ages ago and took all the investors' cash and wine with it. But the lawyers handling the whole liquidation have already said there’s nothing left to give out. Sounds to me like it’s probably just another fraud!English Fine Wines4 yearsI got a call from someone claiming they could recover cash I'd supposedly lost from investing in a company called Apex. I told them I’d never put money into that or anything like it, but they kept insisting I had. When I asked how they even had my number, they got rude and started swearing. It’s a con where they promise to get back your lost investment money, but really just take a fee without doing anything. Turns out, they’re in cahoots with the original scammers and dodgy investment firms.Apex4 yearsJust got a call from some cold caller claiming they were from a company that could help folks who put money into Park First. Honestly, sounded shady to me - feels like one of those riskier deals where they try to grab claims but you really don't know if it's legit.
