Caution, this number is dodgy! They pretended to be from Amazon, claiming they saw I was struggling to set up my Echo Dot. They insisted I had to fork out £69.99 through PayPal. Stay clear of this con!

Got a call off a bloke claiming to be from Amazon, said he’d charge me £29.99 to run some sort of clean-up to clear old files so I could connect my Echo to my new wifi router. I started asking questions and he just ended the call straight away.

Got a message and then a call about my amazon alexa not linking up with wifi. They said my subscription ran out after 30 days, which is rubbish cos I’ve had it for over a year. Then they tried to charge me £49.99 to fix it. Nah, I know alexa’s free to use, so no way am I paying that.

So I was talking to someone then got a call about my Amazon Alexa not linking up to WiFi. They said my subscription ended after 30 days, even though I’ve had it for like a year. Then they wanted £49.99 to sort it out. Nah mate, Alexa’s free to use so I told them to jog on.

Got a call from 01.444 391242, supposedly about my Echo Dot, but it was nothing to do with Amazon. Total scam! The minute they demanded a one-time fee to fix the problem, I hung up and told the idiot to find a real job.

Got myself an Amazon Echo but couldn’t get it working right away. Then this number rings me to “help” sort it out. After following their instructions, the Echo started working but they asked me to pay a one-time fee of £69.99 through Paypal. I checked with Amazon and they said the call wasn’t from their team. Tried ringing them back but no answer, and they never called me again. Feels like a total scam to me.
