Just like everyone else is saying, they say they are from HMRC and try to sound real intimidating. They use the weirdest phrases that really wind me up. I keep thinking about my elderly mother-in-law - if she got one of these calls, she’d be scared stiff and might end up calling back and giving them whatever money they demand! It really frustrates me - why do HMRC or even BT not do something to stop this rubbish???

Someone rang up saying they were from HMRC. Just like others have said, they were making threats. When I rang them back, all they had was my old maiden name, so I didn’t bother going on with it. Definitely a SCAM.

This number left me a voicemail too, pretty sure HMRC wouldn’t just text like that. If it was urgent, they’d probably send something through recorded delivery. Has anyone actually called back and shared their info? Please don’t hand over your details unless you’re 100% sure who you’re talking to.

got a recorded call supposedly from denis grey at hmrc, sounded dead fishy. said it was a urgent matter and to ring 01442780682 straight away. the whole thing was strange and ended real weird with "take care". felt like a proper scam.

This number 01443 780682 rang my mum recently. They left a voicemail telling her solicitor to ring back to get in touch with an officer called Denis Grey at HM Revenue & Customs. When I phoned the number, the person on the other end asked for a case number, which I said I didn’t have. Then they wanted my name and the first line of my address, but I didn’t give it to them, and they just ended the call.
