01439339268 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01439339268 👆 is reported as a persistent and aggressive scam call originating from a deceptive call centre, often with foreign accents. Callers impersonate reputable companies like Virgin Media, BT, or HomeCare, claiming overpayments on washing machine or appliance warranties and offering refunds, usually around £119. They seek personal details, especially bank account information, and become hostile or hang up when challenged. Many recipients report silence, abrupt hang-ups, pressure to log onto websites, or requests to alter internet settings - tactics linked to phishing or fraud attempts. Vulnerable individuals, including the elderly, are at risk, and callers frequently ignore requests to stop or respect the Telephone Preference Service. It is strongly advised to block the number, avoid engagement, never share personal or banking data, and report to Action Fraud or TPS.

Some bloke called me, there was loads of noise in the background and he had a strong accent, not native English I reckon. He said his name was Steve and claimed to be from 'Virgin Media', asked how I was doing. I told him I was fine, at work actually, and mentioned we don’t have 'Virgin Media' here. I even told him the company I work for and then Steve just hung up.

Got a call last night from Homecare 01439 339268 saying I could get a £119 refund for washing machine cover from way back in Feb 2020. I did have something with a company with a similar name back then, so I was confused. Definitely a scam.

Got a call from someone claiming I was due a £119 refund because I'd been mistakenly overcharged for my home appliance warranty. (Total scam alert!). The bloke even managed to say my name and postcode right, then asked me if that info was correct! I told him no, he had the wrong address, and he just hung up on me straight away!

A couple of very polite individuals recently contacted my elderly parents while my mother was out in the garden. When my dear father, who unfortunately suffers from Dementia and Alzheimer's, answered the phone, they managed to obtain his cheque book and we suspect that they acquired their personal information from it. We have already reported this incident to the bank for further action.

Curious about the situation, I decided to ring the same number and discovered that I have now been added to their database. As a result, I am eagerly anticipating their forthcoming call. Frankly, this infuriates me beyond measure.

I received a rather curious phone call from an Asian lady claiming I was entitled to a refund on some washing machine insurance. The problem is, I don't recall ever having such a policy! When she inquired if I was the individual she intended to contact, I quite clearly replied 'No,' yet she pressed on regardless. I played along, bemused, and said how fantastic it was to be receiving a refund. Her first task was to verify my address, to which I cheekily suggested that she simply send me a cheque before diving into the request for my bank account details. It seemed to throw her for a loop, but she agreed to send a cheque nonetheless. I wouldn't be surprised if she picked up on my hint of sarcasm. However, I won't be waiting with bated breath for anything to arrive!

This loser from Calcutta or Bangladesh claimed his name was Richard Cliff but totally messed up saying my Portsmouth name, called it "pour-s-mouth" or something. I told him yeah, mouth speaking here. Then he wanted to fix some virus on my computer that doesn’t even exist! I used to be with TalkTalk and I’m pretty sure it’s one of those TalkTalk internet scams.

I just received a phone call from a number that appeared as 01439339268. The caller identified themselves as being from a company called homecare and claimed that I had been charged £119 extra for my washing machine warranty. However, I know that this cannot be true as I recently purchased a new washing machine with a 5-year warranty included at no extra cost. It was clear to me that this was a scam call, so I decided to block the number immediately.

Got a call from 01439339268 claiming they were from some homecare service saying I owed a refund of £119 for overpaying on my washing machine warranty. Whenever I receive a call from an unrecognised number, I tend to let my answerphone take care of it. They didn’t bother to leave a message, which led me to believe it was a dodgy caller. And having scoured through others’ feedback, it seems my hunch was spot on!

They keep saying they're with B T. This is the third time they've rang me this week. This number ends with an 8, but before they've been ending in 9. Honestly, it's getting really annoying. Every time I've told them to stop calling, but they just ignore it.

Some woman named Amanda rang me, saying I was owed a refund from Homecare for a washing machine and wanted my bank details to sort it out. I asked if she could send me a letter or something instead, but she said it couldn’t be done since it was ages ago. I just told her I’d wait until the company got in touch properly.

Got a call from a man with an oriental accent, sounded like he was shouting over a loud call centre. He claimed I’d been charged too much on my fridge freezer bill and offered to refund the money directly into my bank. Creepy part was, he already had my name, address, postcode, and exact amount I’d paid. Then he asked for my bank details to send the cash back. I told him I didn’t trust him and was ending the call. Before I hung up, he warned me, "If you end this call, I’ll cancel your refund." Felt very dodgy to me.

01439339268 rang me on my work phone and asked for me by name. The only ones who usually call that number are parcel delivery firms, so I reckon it might be some sort of lost number that’s been sold on. I asked where they got the number from since it’s a Local Government Office line, and they just ended the call. This kind of thing happens pretty often. I’m guessing it’s probably a scam.

They claimed to be from Bosch warranty team - offering a refund for some extra warranty I supposedly paid on my washing machine - total con artists. Haha, one of those dodgy refund scams. I played along for ages. She claimed I was owed a refund and asked for my sort code and account number, so I just used some random numbers from a generator online. She was over the moon, genuinely buzzing. Then she goes, *thank you so much, Madam, it's been a real pleasure talking to you.* I couldn’t help myself, burst out laughing. Told her, try getting cash from THAT, you muppet. She still didn’t get it and said, but I haven’t done anything wrong! Proper daft. Like I’d just give my details over the phone to some nosy sounding muppet.

I received a call from someone claiming I was entitled to a £100 rebate for homecare. They asked for my bank details, but I refused to share them. When I pressed him for the last four digits of my account and my sort code, he couldn't provide that information, citing data protection laws. He had my address, so I suggested he just send me a cheque instead and then promptly hung up.

On the other end was a woman with a distinct Indian accent, claiming she was reaching out regarding my BT Openworld account. I quickly clarified that I don’t even have an account with BT. A lady claiming to be from BT Broadband rang me up, insisting that my IP address had switched from a private one to a public one, implying that "anyone can access my internet". When I queried her about what she meant by "my internet", I tried to clarify that public and private IP addresses are not mutually exclusive - every household possesses both, one on the WAN side and the other on the LAN side. After a bit of back and forth, she abruptly ended the call. Quite the amusing encounter, really!

Got a call from someone saying I'd been charged too much on my 'household appliances' and that I'd be receiving £109 back. All they wanted was my bank account number and sort code to sort the refund. I asked what exactly the refund was for (just pretending to be interested, not daft), but she just kept trying to get my bank details without giving me any real answers. When I asked if people really fall for such an obvious scam these days, she just said 'Thank you madam' and hung up.

Their phishing report page has some useful stuff, plus at the bottom there's a quick way to dob these crooks in. Takes way less time than writting on here and no need to sign up. It's the only way cops get how big and profitable these scams are. So please, if u get any scam calls or texts, make sure u report em!

I received a phone call informing me that I had been overcharged for my home appliances and would be receiving a refund of £109. They requested my bank account number and sort code to process the refund. Suspicious, I inquired about the reason for the refund and proposed receiving it as a cheque. However, the caller persistently avoided answering my questions and insisted on obtaining my bank details.
