I got a message from someone calling himself James Anderson, telling me to call 01438940554 about some supposed HMRC tax dodging issue which I’ve never heard of. I looked it up and found out this number is linked to Stevenage - that's miles away from the HMRC office in Glasgow. I’m confident this is just a scam trying to trick me. Don’t bother with anyone like this, it’s just a con!

Received a call just like the one detailed previously - a chap named James Anderson sporting an American twang, claiming to be from HMRC. He warned me not to disregard the call, mentioning an arrest warrant due to tax evasion, the usual scare tactics. I promptly reported him via the HMRC's online fraud portal. Interestingly enough, my taxes are deducted straight from my salary, so there's no possibility of dodging my dues! It was clear to me from the outset that it was a scam.

Just like others mentioned, I got a call today around 12:16 from a bloke with an American accent leaving a voicemail on my phone. He said his name was James Anderson and that he was from HMRC. Got a call the other day from a bloke named James Anderson, said he was from HMRC, ringing me on 01438940554.
