10 yearsI recently received a rather dubious phone call from someone claiming to be associated with ML Legal. They referenced my old maiden name and requested to speak with me, yet didn’t verify any other details, which instantly sent up red flags. The caller insisted that he was reaching out about a supposed road accident I had within the last three years, which I found perplexing, as I have never been involved in any such incident. He grew rather agitated when I stated this, claiming that my information had somehow been logged in the National Collision Database-a term that was completely foreign to me. When I pressed him for details, he suggested that a family member must have provided the information. When I pointed out that my family doesn't drive, we ended up having a rather heated exchange. Eventually, after much back and forth about the source of his information, he proclaimed that he would erase my details from this database as ‘mistakes do happen,’ which was amusing considering he initially claimed everything was completely accurate.
