My missus got a call from someone claiming to be Yorkshire bank, saying there was an attempt to send £750 to a place called Emerits. They asked her to read out the phone number on the back of her debit card, which actually turned out to be the bank's customer service line, just to "check" if her card was lost. When I stepped in, the bloke told her to move somewhere else so I couldn't hear, then threatened to call the police if I didn't let him talk to her. Honestly, this has got to be one of the daftest scams I've ever seen.

I got a call from someone claiming to be with Yorkshire Bank, but I don't have an account there. They wanted me to give them my personal info.

I picked up, said I didn’t recognise the number, and they just ended the call straight away.
