Received a rather bizarre call from a woman early on Sunday at 12.18am, inquiring about my identity. She proceeded to accuse me of incessantly ringing her boyfriend, claiming that my number was repeatedly appearing on his phone. Quite confrontational, to say the least. Then, this evening at 10.37pm, I got a similar call, although there was no caller ID this time. This time it was two younger-sounding girls who interrogated me about why I was messaging their boyfriend. They seemed to have a version of my name and rather rudely suggested I was old enough to be his mother, hurling insults my way and questioning the whereabouts of my children this evening. I don’t hold an Amazon Prime account myself, but my daughter does, and I can’t help but wonder if these calls are somehow linked to a food delivery associated with Amazon. Quite the peculiar situation, isn't it?

Luckily, after I block a number, my phone stops ringing when they try to call. I’m curious though, like what do they hear on their end if you’ve blocked them? Does anyone know?

I've just had a rather peculiar phone call from 01434 393207. The bloke on the other end seemed utterly clueless. It turns out he was trying to reach a fish and chip shop in North Wales, bizarrely claiming they wouldn't be selling fish and chips to us anymore! To add to the absurdity, he didn’t even bother to withhold his number. Little did he realise, we've got a brilliant local supplier for all our supplies. What a right nitwit!

Got a voicemail from someone claiming I’d scratched their car and left a number on their window. Sounded really real at first but turned out to be one of those dodgy recorded scams!!!

Someone rang me saying they were the police and that I had been caught texting while driving on some camera system. Total scam!!! Don’t pick up, just block and be careful!

Got a call from this number saying I had to take someone away for a while, sounded like a total scam about kidnapping or something. Told them to bugger off lol. Definitely just some prank, voice was all strange and weird.

It seems to me that this could be an app designed for cheeky prank calls. There’s a whole host of different features to choose from, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it's someone familiar to you who’s having a bit of fun. If folks just ignored cold calls, they’d probably quit pretty quick. But the truth is, some do answer, so it keeps happening. I personally don’t, and any firm that rings out of the blue or sends unwanted letters, I make a point of never dealing with them. I’ve stopped using several companies this way.

Looks like it was a prank call, from what I can tell. My wife told me to ring back cos it was from around where some of her relatives live. Fingers crossed she hasn’t racked up a huge phone bill for me!

Just like the others who commented on the 25th of August, someone suddenly started yelling at me to quit using their WiFi. After that, they kept ringing me from a private number. Its a bit odd really since this is my work phone and I haven’t shared it with anyone apart from colleagues.

Sounds like one of them annoying prank calls. Bet some so-called ‘mate’ is winding you up. Some folks really need to sort themselves out and find something better to do. Doubt it’s even from around here. Best just block it.

I didnt pick up but she left a voicemail. It was a weird call from some Australian lady chatting about Brexit. She kept saying she didn’t want Polish people taking jobs and that they were gathering in every parliament or something. Then she just kept repeating ‘Brexit, Brexit, Brexit’ before saying goodbye.

I just had this frantic guy on the phone asking where he should bring my order of about 20 pizzas. He kept asking, "Is it a street, a road, where exactly is it? I just want to get this done." So strange. Not clever, not amusing at all!

I received a rather distressing phone call from an utterly rude individual who bizarrely blamed me for allegedly stealing his WiFi. To make matters worse, I had my twin nieces in the car with me at the time. The way he spoke was simply appalling!

Got a call from this number earlier. Normally, I don't pick up if I don't know who it is but I answered this time and there was a woman on the line acting really odd, asking me how long I had been with her boyfriend!! I told her I had no clue what she was on about and then she just hung up. Looked up the number and it’s from Haltwhistle, Northumberland, which is way far from where I live. Definitely blocking this one. Watch out, folks!

This guy was going off saying I’d ordered loads of party stuff like 3 bouncy castles. He even reckoned he knew my voice from calls before - pretty impressive for a recorded message! Just as he was done, another voice chipped in telling me it was a prank by dial a prank[###]. Made me laugh tbh!

Got a call close to 10pm and there was a message left by a bloke with an Aussie accent saying I was caught using my mobile whilst driving and my licence was suspended. Just ended up blocking the number and gave it no attention.

Quite a peculiar phone call I received today. The voice on the line seemed pre-recorded and insisted she was “Jane, the one you bumped into at Asda last week when we saw you nabbing some items.” It had a rather sinister tone, so I decided it was best to terminate the conversation. Leicester bloke named K#### Q####, dodgy Pakistani trying to scam ya. He’ll ask for your credit card info. Proper scammer from Park Vale Spinney Hills, known around Leicester as a right pain. Watch out!

Most likely found my number on Gumtree, total daft waste of time. The bloke kept saying I was using his wifi, like I’d be working 300 miles away 🙄. Ended up blocking calls from three separate landlines - 020, 01276 and 01434 - all within just ten minutes. 🙄
