Somebody called claiming they were from the special smiles charity and wanted me to sponsor them since I supposedly run a business and could pay. When I said no, they started getting rude, so I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

Since I didn’t recognise the number, I just let it go to voicemail. After seeing what others said here, I’m thinking about reporting it.

Caught another one trying to scam me, didn’t bother answering and blocked the number. I’m pretty sure they’ll just ring me back using some other number they have lined up. It’s ridiculous how these companies allow such numbers to be used, but I guess making money is more important to them than protecting people. They really should be stopped from getting away with it.

I experienced a rather prolonged pause during which a chap with a pronounced Asian accent began to quiz me with an assortment of seemingly pointless questions, masquerading as if he were running a survey of sorts. While I could have easily ended the call, I chose to humour him with a series of preposterous answers. His complete lack of reaction to my absurdities only served to confirm my suspicion that it was, indeed, a scam call.
