Got a call on Saturday the 15th just after noon, and when I picked up, there was this robotic American voice saying something like, "Hi, this is Shirley from BT." These calls have been popping up quite a bit over the past few weeks. I’m guessing they swap numbers often since I haven’t seen many others mention this exact one - though loads of people have had similar calls from 0142 numbers (01429 is Hartlepool area). Considering it’s a UK number, it’s baffling that no official body seems to be able to stop this nonsense.
