Some bloke named Parker gave me a ring claiming he’s from the BT internet team. He told me my router had picked up a virus and tried to get me to share details about my account and internet. I said I wasn’t going to switch on my computer since I had to head to work. After that, I started getting calls as early as 7:30am, about a dozen over the last few days. I eventually spoke to a guy who works at the local phone exchange for BT, and he explained these scammers can call in to the UK and make it look like the phone number is from nearby Hartlepool.

Got a call from someone asking loads of questions about my internet provider. Felt like they were trying to get into my house through my connection or something dodgy like that. Definitely a bit suspicious!

This person said they were from my internet supplier, but when I asked which one, they said BT. Since BT isnt the one I use, I called them out on it straight away and then they just ended the call.

They kept ringing us nonstop all day, saying they were from some internet company. The calls began super early, around half past seven in the morning, and didn’t let up until about three-thirty in the afternoon. They kept switching the numbers they called but all had the same area code. Even after I told them straight away we weren’t interested on the first call, they just wouldn’t stop. Proper annoying!

Later the same day they called again but from a different number. I always question calls like this and never return them, because some scams involve getting you to ring premium rate lines.
