The lady sounded quite professional and was asking about my pension. When I questioned where she found my number, she said it came from a trusted marketing company that passes info to several third parties. I told her I wasn’t really interested and she remained quite courteous. I'm flagging this as 'risky' since it could easily be mistaken for a genuine call.

Got a call trying to push me some investment scheme. Told the bloke cold calling like that isn’t allowed, but he just didn’t bother. Ended up telling him to find a proper job he can be proud of since what he’s doing doesn’t count.

Got a call from a bloke who said he was from CarPhone Warehouse, trying to sell me an upgrade. I told him I wasn’t a customer of theirs, and he said something like no one is really 'with' CarPhone Warehouse, that they just arrange deals to keep you on your current network. I mentioned I’d just renewed my contract with O2, then he abruptly hung up. It was pretty annoying, seemed like they’d got hold of my details somehow because he even asked about my wife, who's the contract holder! Caller said it was CarPhone Warehouse.
