On the 19th of December 2022, we got a ring from 01422766337, where the person on the other end stated they were conducting a survey and luring us in with the offer of Amazon vouchers for our time. The caller had an accent typical of East Asian origins, which made it rather tricky to pinpoint who they were actually representing. We decided against participating, so the conversation didn't proceed any further, thankfully. What really raised my eyebrows, though, was that we are on Plusnet-an unlisted number, mind you-making me quite curious about how they managed to acquire it in the first place. Generally speaking, we only ever provide our mobile number when dealing with businesses and such, so this felt rather odd.

These people keep ringing me, and the first time I told them it wasn’t a good moment. I checked with my local branch afterwards, and they said it’s definitely a scam. Why on earth don’t the authorities track down these crooks and sort them out properly?!

Got another call from this number tonight at about 8:45pm, hadn’t answered when they tried me earlier. They claimed they were doing a survey for Halifax. Told them I wasn’t interested and when they asked when would be better, I just said no thanks, never. Ended it there. Pretty clear that’s a scam if you ask me.

Had a call from some so-called "market research" firm claiming to be from Lloyds, asking loads of questions about my accounts. One question was if I'd had more cash in my savings or my current account over the past year? Yeah, right! Lloyds would never hand out customer info like that, so it was obvious they were scammy jokers. Really wish they'd be shut down already!

Got a missed call from this number again, second time in about a month. They left a really short voicemail that was all garbled and I couldn't make out what they said. The person seemed to speak with an Asian sub-continental accent. Since I’m not sure why they were calling and seeing other comments about this number, I’m labeling it as risky.

A chap named Ed rang me up claiming he was from Zen Internet. He insisted that we were still with them, even though we actually ceased our dealings with them this year due to not renewing our contract. I informed him that we’ve never been with Zen, as we manage our own internet service. He wouldn’t back down and kept insisting we were customers, then oddly asked for a name of a person he could speak to. I directed him to the contact details that should be on record, but lo and behold, he had nothing stored. Complete rubbish!

Got a call from this number around 8.45 in the evening, claiming to be from Halifax asking if I could answer a few questions. I told them it wasn’t a good time, and when they asked if they could ring back later, I declined and they just ended the call. Banks don’t usually ring you so late, so I reckon it was probably a scam trying to fish for my info. Also, I could hear loads of noise like they were somewhere busy in the background which made me even more suspicious.

I received a call from a chap claiming to represent Lloyds Bank, asking if I could partake in a survey. I mentioned I was a bit pressed for time at the moment and suggested they reach out to me again next month. However, he insisted it was imperative to wrap it up straightaway, so I decided to cut the conversation short with a quick goodbye.

I had a peculiar phone call last night from this number. The caller addressed me by my name and claimed to be from my bank, supposedly conducting a survey. I was about to head out, so I requested that they ring me back the following day. In the meantime, I decided to pop into my local branch and inquire if they had any knowledge of this survey. To my surprise, they advised me to exercise caution as they weren’t aware of any such survey, and in reality, any legitimate call would have originated from one of their official 0800 numbers. So, please consider this a potential scam and stay vigilant!

I received a call in Leeds just as I was settling down for my evening meal. When I inquired about the identity of the caller, they were rather evasive and wouldn't disclose their name. I pointed out how ridiculous it is to ring someone and then refuse to introduce yourself. Quite predictably, they terminated the call straight after.

Got a call from someone who said they were ringing on behalf of “Halifax.” They claimed it was about some questions on bank interest rates, but nothing personal. The whole thing sounded a bit dodgy, especially as they kept emphasising “Halifax” like it was the bank, not just the area. Feels like a classic scam where they’re fishing for bits of info, probably to tie to phone numbers and then pass them on. Might not be outright illegal, but definitely a sneaky way of collecting data.
