10 yearsIt's always a good idea to do a bit of digging, and I've come across details for this outfit: REACTIVE MEDIA, situated on Gas Works Lane in Elland, Halifax, HX5.REACTIVE MEDIAGas Works LaneEllandHalifax11 yearsLately, I've been inundated with calls from this number, with the callers introducing themselves as some sort of Insurance Consumer Assistance service. They, along with a whole host of other firms, have persistently been trying to reach my wife by name for nearly a year now. Whenever I inform them that she’s not available, they simply hang up on me. At one point, I counted up to five calls in a single day! Eventually, I managed to unravel the mystery behind this incessant calling. Back in late 2010, my wife had a moment of curiosity and visited a financial comparison website searching for competitive rates for a vehicle purchase. That turned out to be a rather regrettable decision. She filled out an inquiry form with one particular company, providing them with our contact details. They sent her a quote, and it was jaw-droppingly high! In her disbelief, she even scrawled “YOU’VE GOT TO BE JOKING!” across the front of the quote before dispatching it back. However, since she didn’t complete the form, the company decided to sell her information to a raft of Debt Management organisations, triggering the avalanche of nuisance calls that ensued. I pieced this together after interrogating a few of the callers. Now, I make it a point to request that every company calling stops using my wife’s information. Moreover, I’ve gone and made our listing ex-directory, set up caller identification, activated a caller anonymous reject function, and registered with the Telephone Preference Service and Silent Call Guard. A significant number of these calls originated from India, often showing numbers that can’t be traced. Thankfully, with all these measures combined, the volume of these troublesome calls has abated considerably. I hope sharing my experience proves helpful to others in similar situations!Telephone Preference Service and Silent Call GuardIndia11 yearsI seem to be receiving an incessant stream of calls from a finance company that deals with loans and the like. It’s becoming rather bothersome!11 yearsThey just rang us but didn’t leave any message.11 yearsWe received four calls in just an hour! The very first time we answered, these folks immediately asked for our name but weren’t keen to share theirs. Now, when they ring our number, we assume they obviously know who we are and should be ready to tell us who they are in return, as that seems to be the unwritten rule of chatting. Honestly, these calls have become quite the nuisance!12 yearsI just received a call and when I requested them to repeat their name and what they had just said, they abruptly hung up on me.12 yearsI've received another one of those pesky PPI calls, claiming that we took out loans back in 2001 and 2009. The truth is, we've never had any such loans! What a bother!Submit Your Own Report (01422 387710)
