On the 12th of July 2022, I got a call on my mobile from someone claiming to be conducting a survey about recycling. The number said they were from Halifax in Yorkshire, but I live in Essex. Got a random call the other day from someone claiming to be from Essex County Council asking about my rubbish and recycling. Thing is, I don’t live in their area, but they just wouldn’t accept that. I told them to shove off and hung up quick. It’s easy to spot those cold calls when they try to pry into stuff that’s not even their business - feels like a total scam to me.

They asked tons of questions like when and where I shop, how I travel there, who I usually go with, plus my name and age. They even asked if I had a mobile number. It was totally out of nowhere and I really should’ve just hung up. Just a heads up to stay cautious with calls like that!

Got a call from someone who was quite polite, saying they wanted to do a brief survey about internet usage by people who aren’t online very often. I told them I’m online all the time, so I probably wasn’t the right person. Then they pushed a bit, asking if I could do the survey anyway, and I said I was tied up. They mentioned they’d ring back later. It felt a bit dodgy, especially since they were asking about how we protect our data, which raised some red flags for me.

It’s really just a dodgy marketing company pretending to be official. Makes me wonder if next they'll be pushing some sort of vaccine sale or something. Total waste of time.
