Got a call from someone speaking really fast with an Asian accent. They were asking a bunch of questions like if I owned a washing machine, what kind it was, whether I had a mortgage, and even my age. I just kept saying ‘no’ to everything until they finally ended the call.

Got a call at about 7.45 in the morning from someone trying to trick me into letting them into my computer. Such a waste of time, really should’ve been harsher with them.

This guy claimed he was ringing from Microsoft, but when I told him I don’t use their stuff, he quickly said I must’ve got it wrong and he was from Macintosh instead. I told him again I don’t use that either, but then he said he could see my ID on his screen. Once I mentioned I’m actually on Linux, he just hung up straight away.

A bloke said he was calling from Microsoft. We kept chatting and told him the computer he was on about wasn’t here, but down at our main office which has its own IT team. He just wouldn’t take any notice, so we got a bit frustrated and then he just hung up on us. Proper rude fella.

Got a call early this morning, about 8:30, from a lady with an Asian accent who said she was from Microsoft. She asked me, "Is your computer alright?" I said "It's fine." She chuckled and said something I couldn't make out, so I just told her the smartest move would be to hang up. Honestly, these lot must be cracked in the head!

Got a call from someone claiming to be with Microsoft, but when I told them I don’t use any of their stuff, they quickly changed to saying they were from Macintosh. I mentioned again that I don’t use that either, but they insisted they had my ID right there in front of them. Then when I told them I actually run Linux, they just hung up on me. Quite the weird experience!

So I was on the loo when I got a ring but no message left. Used 1471 to find out who it was, got a number, but when I rang it back it just said "number not recognised." Seems dodgy, maybe a scam or summink.

Got a call from this number at 7:47, a lady with an Asian accent who somehow knew my name. She claimed to be from Microsoft Windows, but when I questioned her, she got quite rude and said they’d block my computer if I didn’t cooperate. Then she just cut me off. This is the third time in three days I’ve had calls like this from different numbers, so I’ve gone ahead and blocked this one now.

Got a call from someone speaking with an Asian accent claiming to be from Microsoft, saying my security had been hacked. I just put the phone down and ignored them while they kept talking. After a bit, since I didn’t answer, the line just disconnected. Honestly, just leave your phone and move on, they’re the ones paying for the call. The longer you stick around, the more their call actually ends up costing them.

Had a chat with him for more than 20 minutes. Seemed like their time mattered but I didn’t have anything else going on. My computer was off the whole time. Followed his script perfectly, even tried logging into his site but he still couldn’t get through. He got really irked when I joked about switching it on, haha.

This scam is just as old as the ones people keep talking about up there. Honestly, I can’t understand how folks still get caught out by it after all these years. They’ve started using numbers like 01420, which looks like it’s from Hampshire or somewhere in the UK, but obviously, that’s not the case at all.

Heads up - some bloke ringing up saying he's from Microsoft, telling me my computer's been hacked or had a virus. I asked him for proof, like a phone number I could call back on. He dodged that and said there’s this special Computer Licence ID only Microsoft and me would know. Then he rattled off some long string of letters and numbers. I checked with my local IT guy and that was total nonsense! I told the caller if he couldn’t give me a proper number, I’d hang up - and I did just that. Pretty clear he was after control of my PC.
