I've gotten calls from this number a couple times already, but if I don't know who's ringing me, I just don't pick up. Easy as that!

Just got a call from 01420358012 claiming to be Virgin Media, saying there was an issue with my internet. Then he actually asked if my internet was working! I let him keep going for a few minutes before I told him he was talking nonsense. Told him I’d call Virgin Media myself to check, then ended the call. What a load of rubbish!

Some guy called saying he was from Virgin Media, sounded Asian. He started moaning about something I supposedly did, so I just ended the call.

Rang me at 09:26 today. It was Rachel from Virgin Media, calling from Bombay. As soon as I mentioned I was with BT, they abruptly ended the call.

Seemed rather fishy, considering they were after my personal computer or smartphone details! Pretty certain it’s a scam-had the air of authenticity, yet they couldn't even provide my name or account number.

I saw the missed call but decided not to answer. Took a moment to look it up here and honestly, I'm relieved I didn’t pick up. There’s way too many dodgy calls going around these days.

When I inquired about his department to confirm his legitimacy, he responded by accusing me of being disrespectful and offensive. To my astonishment, he then threatened to involve the police, stating I would soon receive a policy that could lead to a five-year prison sentence! Now I find myself just sitting here, twiddling my thumbs, waiting for the old bill to turn up! What a ridiculous situation!

Today, I received another ring, and the person on the other end seemed rather hesitant and didn't bother to explain the purpose of the call. In both instances, there was a distracting din in the background, reminiscent of a busy call centre, which only added to the suspicion.

I caught a faint mumbling with an Asian inflection regarding the internet, but it was rather hard to make out. Eventually, I just told them to shove off.

My lad went off with them without really listening to their instructions, and soon found himself passed along to the money guy when they believed they had managed to infiltrate his computer. He then spun them a yarn, claiming to be a fraud investigator-which, to be fair, he actually is-and told them he was now employing his company’s software to monitor and map their operation (which he definitely wasn’t). He added that he intended to report everything to the relevant government bodies and that a team would be dispatched to deal with them once and for all. That certainly put them in a right pickle, haha!

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent claiming to be from Virgin Media. When I asked what it was about, the caller said he loved me... definitely not very professional, so I just ended the call. Honestly, sounds like a scam to me.

Somebody said they were from Virgin Media, kept asking me about my plan and how much I pay every time. After a while, they got annoyed and actually called me a stupid b##ch. I just had to laugh and then ended the call.

Back in December, I was grappling with some internet issues and they assured me that their technical team would reach out. I had no reason to doubt them, so when they did call, I thought everything was legit. The caller insisted that my internet had been compromised and urged me to switch everything off immediately. They seemed to know an awful lot about my personal information-what was on my phone, my online accounts, and even details about my bank. It escalated quickly, with them demanding a sum of £1000. I couldn't believe it; I mean, what were they thinking? I promptly hung up and realised I had to take action, so I contacted Virgin Media directly. They expressed disbelief that I would think it was someone from their company, yet this caller seemed alarmingly informed about my situation, even mentioning a callback from their technical team. In the end, Virgin Media sent me a new router, but I’m still being pestered by various numbers claiming to be from them. They even provided me with an account number to deposit money, but Virgin Media dismissed it entirely. To make matters worse, I ended up being charged by them for a four-hour call that was entirely unnecessary! I did some digging and found that the call originated from Brighton, so I still have all the details of the scammers. Honestly, something has to be done about this nonsense. If anyone comes across this, I recommend checking out YouTube videos on "Scammers Getting Scammed." It's eye-opening!

I can't emphasise enough how crucial it is to use fingerprints for any financial transactions. They've truly saved me from potentially losing a fair bit of cash!

I just received a rather dubious call from someone claiming to be from Virgin Media's security team, alleging that numerous individuals were accessing our home internet. However, it was when she snapped at me for asking for further verification that her façade crumbled completely-complaining she might jeopardise her job by sharing more details! Received a call earlier today, the 23rd of September 2021. The chap on the line introduced himself as Jamie Smith-spoke with a distinctly Asian accent-and claimed to be contacting me from Virgin. The background was rather chaotic, and he mentioned that there were problems with my internet connection. I informed him that we subscribe to Sky, and lo and behold, he promptly ended the call! Seems like a classic scam to me!

Shortly after, I got another call, this time from a woman, and I told her outright that she wasn’t from Virgin Media and was rather just a scam artist. I made it clear that I would report her to the authorities. She simply laughed it off, saying the police wouldn’t take any action. In the end, I hung up, utterly baffled at how these people manage to sleep soundly at night! The background was filled with the typical din of a busy call centre too.

I rang Virgin Media using the 151 service after receiving a call from a scammer, and they assured me that the individuals behind it are indeed fraudsters.

Somebody I've never heard of has rung me a few times. I ignored it since the number didn't look familiar. They didn't bother leaving a voicemail which, from what I know, is what call centres often do. Looks like other folks think it's connected to internet scam calls. I've just gone ahead and blocked the number.
