I got a call from someone claiming to be from BT saying my BT hub was running slow and needed checking. They started throwing loads of technical terms at me, which made me suspicious. I soon realised my mobile might be getting hacked, so I just ended the call. I then rang BT myself, who told me there was nothing wrong with my hub and advised me to block the number. They also said to switch off the hub for an hour so when it restarts, it’d get a new IP address. Luckily, nothing fishy happened with me, but definitely keep an eye on your bank account just in case.

Over the past two days ive had about a dozen calls about my internet, every time i ask which company theyre with they just hang up. Some say they’re from BT but I’m not sure if thats legit.

I just let the phone ring out, didn’t pick up at all. Turns out, the feedback I saw here was pretty spot on about these calls.

Was trying to get some work done when I got this silent call, proper irritating. When they hung up, I swear I could hear some sort of call centre noise in the background. I think this number rang me a couple of weeks back too.

This is the 6th time today I’ve gotten a call where they don’t leave a voicemail, and from what I’ve seen, most of them are probably scams. Just blocked this number.

I got a call from someone pretending to be from Sky who said they could boost my internet speed by installing some program. They clearly didn’t have a clue about what they were talking about. I played along and kept them on the line for ages, and they started getting pretty annoyed when I wouldn’t do what they asked.

If by chance this number and caller are legit then sorry for being a bit sharp. But if you’re one of those annoying calls I’ve had over the last few days saying things like I’m about to get arrested for unpaid taxes, or my internet’s supposedly down when it’s fine, or some so-called bank worker wanting to shift money around from my account, then honestly, just piss off. Sorry again if you’re a genuine caller!

I got a call but as soon as I picked up, it was dead silent and then they just ended the call straight away.
