Since I’ve got a Welsh surname, they always ring me up using just that, without any Miss or Mrs, which really annoys me from the start. I never just answer yes or no to their questions. Occasionally, I mess around a bit and act like I’m booting up my computer to see what they’ll do next.

Got a call from someone saying they were with Microsoft, trying to convince me my computer was hacked and that they could fix it. I told them my mate’s an IT guy so I’d ask him to check it out, then hung up. They rang straight back again. They’re pretty slick, but it’s a classic trick. So this bloke rings up and asks if we’re a computer store. I told him no, and he was like, “Oh, right, so what do you actually sell then?” I said we make stuff, but he didn’t ask what exactly.
