I reckon this is one of those scam call centres based abroad, real organised setup. I get calls from this number every day now. They even switch up the last few digits on the caller ID, probably so I can't block them properly. It's strange though, I never got calls like this until about a month after a major UK airline had a big data leak!

Got a call from some car insurance lot asking about a crash I supposedly had. I told them I never been in any accident, and then they said my insurer told them I did! They got real annoyed when I said I don’t even own a car or know how to drive. So yeah, I just blocked the number after that.

Whenever those numbers pop up on my phone, I usually pick up and say something like, “Hello, Fraud Investigation Team here, your call is being recorded.” Most times, they barely get the words out before cutting me off. Pretty funny how quick they hang up!
