Got a call from some legal people claiming to be from Auto Assist. Said it was about a minor car accident in the last couple of years. When I said it wasn't me, they asked if anyone in my home was involved. Honestly, this has all the signs of a scam.

I get at least one call every day, sometimes a few, from the legal team at auto assist saying I’ve been in a car crash. Every time I tell them to take me off their list. It’s just constant harassment!

For about a month now, I've had nearly 40 calls from the same place - often the same voice but with barely changed numbers starting with 0141 769____ each time. They always know my surname. I keep telling them they've got the wrong person, and once I even said whoever they were after doesn't live here and gave a different name. Next day, they rang back asking for that exact name. It’s not just annoying, it’s quite scary that nothing seems to be done to stop these companies.

Some guy with an Asian accent rang me saying me and my car had been in an accident. I told him neither me nor the car were involved and asked him not to call back before I ended the call.

Well! My husband answered the call on his phone but they were asking for me. Apparently I've been in an accident - funny, he hasn't spotted any bruises or my two broken legs! Since his car's been off the road, he’s been using mine. And he hasn’t mentioned the four dents and scratches it’s picked up either! He’s now said sorry for not stringing our Asian mate along for a good half hour just to ruin HER day. Just having a laugh here, the car’s fine, I’m fine, but what I’d really like to say to these SUPER annoying people I couldn’t write down for fear of offending!

Had these calls nonstop for ages. They all start with the same area code but different endings every time I block one. Now I just pick up and keep them chatting for a bit to annoy them. Last bloke I asked, “So, what accident are you sayin’ I had?” Then he hung up quick.

First they asked for someone who isn’t real, then on the next call the bloke said he was from Active Life Insurance. When I asked where he got my number, the idiot just said it’s on his screen! Told him I’m on the TPS list so he shouldn’t be ringing me up, then asked for his company name again and he just refused to say it.

A man called and asked if he was speaking to (my name), which I confirmed. He then started talking about a car crash I was supposedly in. I told him I hadn’t had any accidents for about eight years. After that, he just ended the call.

Total accident scammers. She actually knew my name but I just didn’t respond to it, asked who it was, and like others have said, it was something like UK Accident helpline. I told them calmly to take me off their list and said I hadn't been in any accident. Then that daft little woman just slammed the phone down. That’s the worst part, their little cowardice, not even willing to have a proper chat. If I could find where they were, I’d definitely send them a proper telling off.

Received a call from someone purporting to be regarding an accident I supposedly had - I’ve never been in one! The person was quite discourteous and simply cut the line without warning. To top it off, the number doesn’t allow for incoming calls either. Very dodgy!

Not sure who these lot are but they ring me like 3 times a day. Picked up the last one and asked who it was but they wouldnt let me say anything, started banging on about some ancient stuff.
