01417690007 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01417690007 👆 is reported as a persistent scam call frequently impersonating major UK energy suppliers such as EON, EDF, Scottish Power, and others. Callers often use foreign accents and aggressive or rude tactics to pressure recipients into divulging personal or business information, claiming contracts are due for renewal. They may appear knowledgeable about current suppliers or meter details but fail security verification and refuse to identify their organisation properly. Blocking the number is largely ineffective as scam operations rotate through numerous spoofed numbers. Many users report silence, hang-ups, or recorded messages when answering. Recipients are strongly advised not to share any details, to question suspicious callers carefully, and to report incidents to Action Fraud for appropriate police investigation.

My phone showed a warning saying 'Suspected Spam!' so I just ignored the call. If it was important, they could have left a message, but nothing was left - kind of fishy if you ask me.

Got a call from this bloke with a strong foreign accent, said he was from EON but wouldn’t say why he was ringing. He was pretty rude and kept pushing to speak to the manager, who wasn’t free and needed to know who he was, what company, and what it was about. Turns out they have no link to EON or the local energy company at all. Definitely a scam call.

Had a right mouthful off this rude woman today. She told me I had to listen to her, complaining I wasn’t giving her any positive vibes and that I needed to check my attitude! That was just because I mentioned the electricity contract isn’t my job at work. Then she said since I’m the manager, I had to speak with her and keep quiet! I couldn’t help but snap back rudely, telling her to just shut up and hang up. Honestly, it scares me to think they might be calling older folks trying to intimidate them like that!

He rang up saying our deal with EON was about to finish this year. I told him we haven’t been customers since 2015, but he kept talking over me. I just ended the call - total waste of time.

Absolutely vile lot who seem to think it’s a laugh to keep ringing after I told em my company manages the energy account. They just kept chuckling down the line, proper scammers they are.

They said they’re from an energy company, but it’s a total scam. Really fed up with these rubbish calls interrupting my workday.

Some bloke rang me claiming to be from EDF, my business energy provider. I just chuckled and hung up on him twice, which seemed to confuse him a bit. I told him right off that he was trying to scam me since I’m not even a customer with them. He then asked who my supplier was, and I just said he’s got all my so-called details right in front of him, so no need for me to share anything else. I wished him luck with his scams, mentioning we’re onto him. Unlike other scammers, he stayed pretty chill and just said goodbye.

People saying they’re from EON but they’re definitely not. It’s so frustrating when you’re just trying to work and these calls keep coming. Honestly, I wish they’d just disappear.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent saying he was from our electric company. He tried to say our contract was about to run out. I quickly told him that’s not true and he wasn’t legit before ending the call. Weirdly enough, he did mention the right supplier’s name, probably a lucky guess, but I wasn’t falling for it. Sad thing is, not everyone is as careful and these scams really need to be cracked down on.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent followed by a bloke who claimed he was from Opus Energy, the company we get our energy from. He said they were going to send me a letter about renewing our contract and needed to double-check some of our info. He didn’t ask for sensitive stuff like bank details or account numbers, but the idea of sorting the renewal out just over the phone didn’t sit right with me. So, I just hung up.

They say they're from Scottish Power but didnt sound right. Seemed like one of those dodgy call centres that struggle with names and stuff. A legit supplier would have your account info ready, but these lot didn’t have a clue. I wouldn’t trust them with any of my details, they’re definitely not who they claim to be.

Got a call earlier from someone claiming to be EON but since I wasn’t a customer, I just ended the call. Then today, this woman with an Indian accent rings up saying she’s from npower and that our business contract needed renewing. She asked for details so she could send some paperwork in the mail. Thing is, my company doesn’t even deal with npower. I just told her no thanks and put the phone down.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming she was from "your electricity company e.on." I told her straight up that e.on wasn’t our provider, which is true. She kept insisting they were, going back and forth a few times. I asked her to give me our account number, and she rattled off some digits. I pointed out they were incorrect. Then she says, “Well, who’s your supplier then?” I refused to share any info. She was quite pushy but finally quit after I didn’t budge. Total SCAM - watch out!

This lot tried the classic trick of saying they were my regular provider, but when I started questioning them, their tale completely changed. After a bit, they got quite annoyed with me. I told them I’d pass them over to my manager and just put the phone on hold.

Someone rang me saying they were from British Gas and even knew our meter number, which seemed a bit suspicious. They started chatting about our contract renewal but got the date totally wrong. They said they’d send some details about the renewal and wanted to talk about payment options, but I cut the call off there.

Got a call from 01417690007, a bloke with an Indian accent claiming he was with Total Energy. He wanted to check on business info, like our bank account number, Direct Debit details, how long we've been operating, plus my name and my director's name. When I said no to sharing bank details, he started getting a bit rude, so I just hung up.

Got a call from a foreign call centre the other day, and the woman claimed she was from my electricity supplier. I told her that couldn’t be right since she was ringing my workplace, which is just a rented office in a business park, and our electricity bills are covered in the rent. She just ended the call after that.

For two days straight now, someone’s been phoning me pretending to be from our electricity supplier, which they correctly identified as Haven Power and even mentioned our meter number. I told them "for safety, you’ll have to tell me our customer ID, site number, and the last Direct Debit amount." They just ended the call immediately. Don’t trust anyone calling in without solid proof they’re legit before sharing anything.
