I just got a call about a car accident scam - these scams are really awful and everyone should report them straight to the police. There’s some dodgy people trying to con us out of money. If you search ‘action fraud’ on Google, click the site from police.uk, then head to the section for reporting scams and file a report for phishing. You don’t need to sign up or anything. The police can only track how bad these scams are if loads of people report each attempt. Apparently, less than 1% of these scams even get reported, so the real number is probably way higher.

I got a call from an unknown number saying I was involved in some sort of car accident. I told them I hadn’t even been driving, just a passenger, but they kept insisting I was the driver. When I said I wasn’t the person they were looking for, they started stammering and then I just hung up. Felt really sketchy to me.

I’m registered with TPS but this number still gets lots of calls. What’s the use of TPS then? Whenever they ring, they hear a message saying my number is shielded by Call Guardian, but they just hang up like it doesn’t make any difference. They don’t seem to get that they’re actually blocked.

It’s odd because hardly anyone I know has this number since it seems fairly new. I got a call from a company called AMS, I think. They actually knew my name which made me curious. When I asked what accident they were talking about, the person just started mumbling nonsense and ended the call abruptly. I'm already on the TPS list, so I found it pretty suspicious. Tried calling back but the number was dead, no longer in service.

I’m so fed up with these calls, I’ve blocked like 150 different numbers already! They just keep switching to new ones though. Honestly, there ought to be some law against this. It baffles me how they even manage to get hold of our phone numbers in the first place.

So, this caller rings up sayin' it’s about a crash I supposedly was in some time back. Thing is, I don’t even have a car! Then they go on, saying I was just a passenger or something.
