Got a call today, and the lady wanted to speak to either Mr or Mrs but never said my last name. I told her she must have dialled the wrong number, and she said sorry for disturbing me. I received a rather dubious call purportedly from an energy company, insisting I must undergo a safety check on my home's insulation because of some vague health and safety issue. The caller seemed intent on wrapping her message in layers of confusion, making it quite difficult to grasp what she was on about. Shortly after, another unknown number rang me, claiming to belong to the same energy firm and wanting to address the loft insulation highlighted in this so-called alert. However, I reside in a ground floor flat! The moment I mentioned this, the line went dead. It’s painfully obvious they’re just trying to dupe people.
