2 yearsOn the evening of 7th August, around 7:45pm, I had a chap from Scottish Power knock on my door. He showed me his ID and had some figures regarding my energy consumption. To my surprise, he mentioned that Scottish Power was my energy supplier, despite the fact that I’m a British Gas customer (not that I use gas at home). The offer he presented appeared rather tempting, and, regrettably, I ended up sharing my personal information, including my bank details. I received texts later confirming that a Scottish Power account had been set up on my behalf. Shortly after his departure, I got a call from an 041 number asking to confirm my name and other details, followed by an unmarked email stating that a welcome pack would be sent my way. It was at that point I began to have my doubts and suspected it might not be legitimate. Any guidance on this situation would be greatly appreciated.Scottish PowerBritish Gas2 yearsPretty sure it was Scottish Power ringing me. I told them I’m not keen to sign up at the moment but said I’d keep in contact. Still, they phoned me twice in a row on this number. Just because I’m not up for it right now, doesn’t mean they need to keep calling me on the same day!Scottish Power2 yearsJust to say, this is definitely Scottish Power. I changed supplier recently and this number rang me to verify that the agent was courteous and didn’t try any dodgy or pushy stuff to force the switch. Now, if you haven’t signed up with them yet and they’re calling out of the blue, it’s still a bit spammy, but no doubt, it’s Scottish Power ringing.Scottish Power2 yearsI can assure you that this is indeed Scottish Power. I recently made the switch, and this is the number they used to reach out for confirmation. The representative was quite courteous, and there were no sneaky or aggressive tactics employed during the process. However, if you're not a customer and they’re calling you out of the blue, it can feel rather spammy. But rest assured, it’s legit - it’s definitely Scottish Power.Scottish Power2 yearsSounds like this might be a phone number connected with Scottish Power.Scottish Power2 yearsI've signed up with the Telephone Preference Service, so I really shouldn't be receiving these bothersome calls!Telephone Preference Service2 yearsI've had three missed calls from this number, which claims to be Scottish Power.
