0141 628 9955 rang me. It was a scam, lady with an Indian accent called herself Rachel and chatted about some accident supposedly in last couple of years. Didn’t have any details like where or when or what car. Total scam. Please block this number. It’s a Glasgow code but the person calling isn’t local at all. Definitely a fraud.

Got a call from an Asian lady saying she was ringin from Glasgow about some accident I supposedly had. She didn’t know any specifics about me or any incident. When i checked the number using 1471, it showed up as 0141 6289955. Definitely sounds like a scam to me.

Got a call today from someone with an Indian accent saying they were from the accidents department. I just laughed and ended the call.

They rang me on 30 May at 5pm about an accident supposedly in the ‘last 2 and a half years’. I’ve been on the TPS for ages but these annoying calls keep coming through like the system is useless. BT’s phone back showed the number as 0141 628 9955. I’ve handed it over to both the ICO and TPS. Still, I’d recommend everyone reports this firm.

Got a call from someone in India claiming I'd been "in a car crash sometime in the past two years, is that right?" I asked for the name of his company ("Accident Legal Advice UK") and the number he was calling from (he said 0141-628-8011). When I pressed for more details, he just hung up. But when I checked the number through BT Call Protect, the actual caller ID showed as 0141-628-9955. Tried looking online for any info on that number, but found nothing.

Went through the other replies and I’m with them all the way. Why won’t Ofcom just put a stop to these calls? Then they start asking for forms and car details, sounds exactly like a phishing scam to me. Definitely should be flagged as risky.

Got a call on 24th May about some accident they claim I was involved in, total con if you ask me. You’d think BT, TalkTalk, or Offcom would be on top of this and stop these scammers, but seems like the phone companies care more about making money than actually sorting out real complaints from their customers.

This number rang me on 17/5/17 and some woman with an Asian accent claimed I’d been in an accident? I’d definitely be aware if that happened! I just stayed quiet, didn’t respond, and she kept saying “hello, hello” over and over. Eventually she got annoyed and ended the call. Really hope I don’t get bugged by her or her mates again, they’re proper annoying!

Today, I received a call from Barrie at this number. He informed me that I had been involved in a car accident. However, I clarified that I do not own a car. Sensibly, I asked him to kindly go away. Unfortunately, he responded rudely by abruptly ending the call. Needless to say, the situation was quite unpleasant.

I have received a second phone call from the same number. The first call was from an Asian woman, and this one was from a man. Both individuals seemed unaware of whom they were calling. They tried to discuss a fictitious car accident that I supposedly had experienced and claimed to be from a company named Accident & Legal Advice based in Glasgow. When I questioned them further, they simply terminated the call abruptly. It seems unlikely that they are involved in a serious scam, as they appeared to lack the resources for it, but their persistent calls can be quite harassing. It is possible that the displayed number is not their actual contact information and may originate from abroad. Although they're just foolish individuals, their behavior is rather unpleasant and bothersome.

Got two calls from this number. First, a woman said I was in a car accident that wasn’t my fault. I told her I’d never been in any accident and then hung up. Next day, a different woman rang and said the same thing. I told her it was the second call I'd had (and this one actually woke me up!) and asked where she was getting her info from. She said the Road Safety Authority. I asked which Road Safety Authority, and she just hung up on me. Tried ringing back but no answer. What a disgraceful waste of time and pure harassment.

17/05/13, Got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent claimin someone said I’d been in a crash with my car. When I asked for more info and told him I seriously haven’t had any accident, he just dropped the line right when I was about to say he got my info dodgily. Shame, could’ve gone on for ages! Hi there! I'm Robin, and earlier today I received a call from a gentleman named Peter. He was inquiring about my recent accident and assured me that he could offer me a substantial amount of compensation. Peter took some details about the incident and arranged for his solicitor to reach out to me later. Shortly after, the solicitor contacted me and verified a few more aspects related to the accident. They also informed me that they would be sending me a letter outlining the compensation amount I would receive. I couldn't be happier with this call as they provided excellent service. Peter came across as professional and the whole interaction was very positive. I truly commend them for their work. It's worth mentioning that this call wasn't related to PPI or any fraudulent activity; it was completely legitimate.

We’re in the same boat, our number's ex-directory too. A few months back, my husband was involved in a collision in his work vehicle (someone crashed into him from behind). He exchanged business cards with contact info and business insurance details, no connection to our personal car’s reg, home phone, our car insurance, or even my name. Yet these ambulance chasers ring up asking for me, quoting my car’s registration! So who on earth is handing out our private details? I keep registering the numbers with the TPS, but it doesn’t seem to help at all.

We received a call from this particular number which disconnected when I picked up. It's quite interesting that the number is from Glasgow. Coincidentally, two weeks ago, someone with a Glaswegian accent contacted one of our mobiles pretending to be from Barclays. He claimed that there was fraudulent activity on our account and requested our telephone banking password. This immediately raised suspicions since we don't use telephone banking. He attempted to prove his authenticity by disclosing our address, but he got it wrong. I promptly reported the incident to Barclays and I will be providing them with the Glasgow number as well as contacting the police.
