Then I received a text from a number claiming to be eBay, confirming my ‘order’ for the car, followed by an email from a suspicious address ([email protected]) asking me to do a bank transfer supposedly protected by PayPal. The bloke who phoned me spoke with a strong accent I’d guess was African. If you get any calls from this number about selling cars, I’d advise you to just hang up and find a local car you can actually check out in person.
