Total scam. I phoned the number to see who was behind it. The person picked up right away and just said “hello.” When I asked, he claimed to be from HMRC. When I challenged him on that, he just hung up.

Got a call on my mobile from the number 01416287020 earlier, with a recorded voice claiming to be from HM Revenue and Customs. They were saying it was my last warning about a legal case against me. The message had a really obvious UK accent and sounded like it was auto-generated. Then it said it’d connect me to someone to sort it out, but I knew right away it was dodgy and ended the call. Just putting this out there in case anyone else gets the same nonsense.

This was a total scam! They called and asked if I’d listened to a voicemail, I said no and rang straight back. Then the person asked if I was Mr Media, which I said I was, haha. Next thing, they wanted my card info to “refund” me. I just gave some rubbish details and ended the call. Pretty dodgy experience.

Got a call from what I think was a scammer just now.

About ten minutes ago I got a call from someone claiming I was overdue for a lawsuit. I phoned back, and they started talking about paying me a tax refund but asked for my credit card details, then my debit card info when I asked why. I told them to just send me a cheque instead, and the person got really rude, threatening to cancel my refund. Definitely not a local, very dodgy!

Got a dodgy robocall with some awful automated voice telling me I had to ring them back about a supposed HMRC legal case. After that, some American bloke said they’d connect me to an agent, but then the call just dropped. Proper annoying.

I got a call at 11:15 on the 27th of March 2018. When I tried calling back, they just wouldn't speak to me. Then they called and started calling me an idiot, even threatening me and telling me to be careful. They wouldn’t say what company they were with either. There seriously should be some way to block these numbers for good. Sad thing is, phone companies seem more interested in making money than stopping people getting scammed.

Got a call from 01416287020 claiming I had a lawsuit against me and that I was owed a refund. The guy sounded Indian and asked for my Visa and Mastercard details. I told him there's no way I'm giving that sort of info to some random bloke. He got proper annoyed and said he’d pull the refund. I suggested a cheque instead, but he insisted it was only online transfers and got even more irritated. Then he just cut me off. Totally sketchy and obvious scam.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from HMRC, saying I’m involved in a lawsuit and I have to get back to them. Sounds like a total scam. Just blocked the number and I’m thinking of reporting it to the police since it felt pretty threatening. Watch out, don’t fall for it!
