Not sure if it was just a coincidence, but after reading other comments, it got me a bit paranoid that the person calling might have known what I was up to. So, I’ve decided to block the number just in case.3 yearsA right scam it was, the person on the phone said they were from my bank. I realised straight away it wasn't legit since my bank never contacts you by phone like that. I told them that and quickly ended the call.3 yearsGot a call from someone saying they were with my insurance firm - they even named the right one. They told me I could get a 30% boost in my coverage without having to pay extra, just by paying via direct debit. I asked if they could send me something in the post instead cos I don’t like sorting these things on the phone. They said they only do it by phone, no paperwork. I told them again I don’t do stuff over the phone and asked if they were really from L&G. They kept going, even started shouting while I was speaking. I refused to share any details and told them to just send the info to the email I already have on file with the insurer. Surprise, surprise, no email ever came through.
