At first, I got about four calls from 020 8066 5131. I picked up the first time and there was a woman speaking with a strong foreign accent, talking really fast so I could barely catch what she said. After asking her to slow down, I figured out she was pitching something - an O2 SIM card for £5 with unlimited calls, texts, and data. I told her I was busy at work and ended the call. That day, the same number called me back several more times, so I blocked it. Then, I started getting calls from different but similar-looking numbers like:

Some bloke said he was from O2 and offered me a "today only" deal to slash 50% off my phone bill. When I told him my O2 contract was finished and I wasn’t keen on returning, he quickly admitted he worked for Carphone Warehouse and claimed it was better I left O2 because he could get me a bigger discount. Honestly, I feel sorry for anyone who falls for these dodgy scams. I’ve blocked the number and reported it straight away.

Got a call about a crash I had no clue about. I acted all shocked and mentioned the other party said they wouldn’t report it. Tried asking for details but they clearly didn’t have any. Said I’d sort it with my Insurer and ended the call. Sure enough, they called again the next day and left it ringing, then forgot to hang up, so I overheard them chatting away. Looking back, I shouldn’t have played along, just gave them more fuel. Best thing is to just hang up or let it go to voicemail.

My missus told the bloke she wasn’t up for it and just hung up. Then he called again sounding pretty pushy, I told him straight we weren’t interested and ended the call. But he kept ringing, about three more times. You’ve gotta wonder why the authorities don’t step in to sort this out.
