I received a rather strange call about three hours ago from this number. An Asian gentleman was on the line, claiming to have my name and address - rather unnerving, to say the least. He was keen to discuss upgrading something he referred to as my "Phone Guardian," and mentioned that my Debit Card was about to expire. He implied that without an up-to-date card, I wouldn’t be able to activate this service. He was only after the expiry date, but I kept my cards close to my chest, knowing how these types operate - they’re quite skilled at extracting just enough details to pull off a scam. I ended the conversation, but not long after, the very same chap rang me again from the same number. When I confronted him, noting his familiar voice, he completely denied it and then abruptly disconnected. Just a word of caution to all - stay vigilant!

Reporting these calls doesn’t take any longer than making a quick post on here. It might be a slow process, but right now the cops haven’t got a clue how big this problem really is or what the latest tricks are. Unless every single person who gets these dodgy calls and messages reports it and pressures their MP, nothing’s going to change and these scammers will keep getting away with it.
