Got a call here in Glasgow and just like someone else mentioned, plenty think it’s a legit Curry’s number but honestly, it sounds like another scam to me. I haven’t bought anything from Curry’s in ages, so no clue why they’d ring me outta the blue. It was a totally unexpected call, feels dodgy.

On 17/03/2021, my phone showed a warning about a possible scam when this number rang me. The person on the other end was a bloke speaking with a London accent, but he was phoning from a Glasgow landline. He claimed to be from Currys or PC World, talking about extending the warranty on my fridge freezer. I questioned him about his ID and mentioned the fraud alert I’d received. He said he knew about it but didn’t really explain or prove who he was. So I ended the call nicely and blocked the number straight away. From Hamilton.

On the 17th of March 2021, my phone flagged this number as a Possible Scam. Answered to a bloke with a London accent, but the call came from a Glasgow landline. He claimed to be from Curry’s or PC World, talking about some warranty extension for a fridge freezer I supposedly purchased. I asked him for proof and mentioned the scam alert on my phone. Although he said he knew about it, he didn’t provide any clear ID or reasoning to prove who he was. I ended the chat politely and added his number to my block list. Hamilton area.

Today, I finally answered a call from this number after getting repeated calls over the last couple of days. It was a voicemail from Currys PC World about a warranty for something I supposedly bought. The message said I shouldn’t ring back as they would contact me again. Sounds like harassment to me. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number, regardless if it’s genuinely from Currys or not.
