Got a call about a care plan for a tumble dryer we just bought from Currys. It sounded a bit dodgy, cause we never got any email confirming it. After a couple hours, I rang Currys and they said they hadn’t made any such call. Now I’m stuck on the phone with the bank trying to sort it out.

Today I got a call from this number about an Apple Watch I bought just yesterday. The bloke on the line spoke with a sort of English accent and claimed he was from Curry’s PC World. He said he wanted to update me on the delivery status. He asked me to confirm my address and name first, then quickly mentioned a warranty for the watch. I declined, and the call cut off straight away. It’s worrying that he seemed to already know what I ordered and had my phone number. Just a reminder to anyone reading - never share your bank details on the phone, no matter what!

Just like the comments before me, I ordered an Apple Watch a few weeks back and thankfully I didn’t pick up when they called. They’ve rung me like 3 times every single day, it’s ridiculous! Proper cheeky callers. I’ve tried reaching out to Currys myself to find out how they got my info but still no reply. Seriously, no firm should ever ask for your bank details over the phone, so don’t even entertain their calls!

Got a call from PC World yesterday, they kept bothering me about getting an extended warranty, even tho I told them I already purchased one. Told them I was covered, and right after that, they hung up. Simple and done.

Got a call from a lady with a British accent who said she was ringing from Currys. She wanted my info, but I only realised it was dodgy after a bit. I ended the call once it seemed like she was gonna ask for my bank details for some “care and protect” scheme. Keep in mind, no real firm will ever ask for your bank info over the phone. Honestly, I wish I hadn’t even given them my phone number in the first place.

Same story here. Got a call from this number with an English accent, and the bloke was trying all sorts to get my bank info. Sounded dodgy, so I just hung up and looked it up. Not sure if it’s a scam but glad I checked this site out.
