Got a call from AO about some insurance for a purchase I made. The woman on the phone had a British accent and was really polite. She made it sound like the insurance was free, but then mentioned a monthly fee so fast I barely caught the cost - wasn’t interested anyway. Later on, I got a bit suspicious, checked the number, and from what I can tell, it really was AO calling.

Got a call from this number, and it was clear the person wasn’t from Glasgow like they claimed. He brought up Ao and some insurance stuff, then said he knew I had a delivery coming Friday. Tried to get me to confirm my address, but I told him no way. I reckon if he really wanted to check, he should’ve read the address out to me first. After that, he just gave up and hung up suddenly.

Yeah, I missed the call initially so they rang a backup number I’d given when ordering some kit online, which happened to be my missus’s. She wasn’t quite sure what the bloke wanted but then he started asking for our bank info. She nearly gave it to him but thankfully realised something was off and told him to get hold of me instead. I reckon he was trying to flog some extra insurance or similar. If we didn’t want it when we first bought the item, why on earth would we want it later? It’s more irritating than usual spam calls, that’s for sure.

This site is really handy. Just the other day I had a missed call from ao, couldn't figure out who was ringing my landline and not leaving a message (classic sales tactic, innit). Sadly, this seems normal for many firms nowadays. They aren't satisfied with selling stuff worth £hundreds; they always want extra. It's not about the service they're trying to push, it's the sheer greed of these companies wanting as much cash as possible that irritates me. Virgin Media is a classic example. Plus, you can't block every pesky sales call. Some businesses know well how to get around call blockers.

I've picked up the phone a couple of times only to be met with silence; it seems as if no one's on the line. After about ten seconds, the call just disconnects. It's clearly a semi-automated scheme. Sounds like it was AO. I actually got a new telly from them during the Black Friday deals today. Can't really be sure though, 'cause when I picked up, no one said a word! Glad to find out it’s just them selling insurance though. Not fussed about the calls, I’ll just say no thanks. Always had good experiences with them, the last couple of things I bought were really good quality and fair priced. Free delivery as well, can’t grumble. Oh well, another phone ring!

I've received four calls from this number over the past three days. Got a call first from 0141 number then right after from a 0161 one. The bloke kept saying "mate" which I’m definitely not. Asked him why he was ringing and he said to confirm an order, but I told him I’d done that online already. When I asked what he was selling, he just said he needed to check delivery restrictions, but I’d filled that bit out online too. Kept asking if it was a bad time to talk, sounded really patronising. In the end, I just hung up on him.
