Total scammers, honestly. Sometimes if I’m feeling cheeky, I mess about with them a bit. They get totally worked up when I start messing around. REAL firms always ask for you by your name, not some question like “who’s the account holder?”. Just been getting texts all day now, with a couple of calls yesterday.

Got a message from them saying to ring back, claimed to be Scottish Power. An Indian bloke answered and just said "hello" which seemed off. I gave him my name, address and account details. Felt dodgy so I looked it up while still on the phone. Turns out it was a scam.

Got loads of texts from this number saying: "Hi, we need to talk about arranging payment for your Scottish Power bill or setting up a payment plan. Please ring us on 01414470585". I'm already paid up, so I didn't bother to ring back but they kept ringing me. I never answered and blocked the number straight away. You only get really wary when they start asking for bank and card info. If there was any issue, Scottish Power would email me directly. Feels like they just prey on people’s worries about their credit score.

Some bloke said he was from Scottish Power, wanted my info. I asked a few questions and he couldn’t answer properly, so I ended the call. Five minutes later he rings back, just says "hello" and when I said he’d called me, he got all confused and then suddenly said "oh yeah, you’re through to Scottish Power." Honestly, it felt a bit dodgy to me.

Then they said I needed to set up another direct debit because the guy before forgot to sort it out for me. That’s when I knew something was off and I just ended the call.

Got a text supposedly from SCOTTISH POWER saying they tried calling me but I never got any calls! The message said: "Hi, it's Scottish Power. We've attempted to ring you about your account. Please ring us back on 01414470585. Cheers, Scottish Power" - I didn’t know the number, so I looked it up here. Whatever you do, don’t ring that number. No clue how they even got hold of my mobile!

Got a call from these lot again earlier today but didn’t pick up. When I looked them up here, I saw they sent me a text last week saying I can settle my overdue bill online.
