Some woman with an Asian accent called saying she was from Microsoft and wanted to know if I was the primary user of the computer. Total scam. I actually fell for a similar trick when I first bought my computer, but not gonna happen again. Really dodgy.

I received a call from someone purporting to be Alice from the Microsoft Tech Team, and she was going on about a virus issue on my computer. Right off the bat, she wanted remote access to my machine, insisting it was necessary to sort everything out. I calmly told her to cease with her incessant pestering, as I quickly realised she was attempting to pull a fast one on me.

BEWARE OF FRAUDSTERS! DO NOT ENGAGE! Make sure to notify the police about any suspicious calls by visiting the ‘action fraud’ website through ‘police.uk’. Head to their ‘report phishing’ section and carefully go through all the guidelines. Afterwards, fill out the scam report, including any URLs or links you’ve received in the description box. There’s no need to sign up, and they won’t ask for your personal details unless you have actually been scammed and lost money. Reporting every dodgy call or message is crucial so authorities can track these criminals and keep us safe.

Some bloke said he was ringing from Microsoft in Reading, UK. When he saw I wasn’t buying it, he started telling me to set fire to my computer, saying it’d been hacked. He also kept telling me to go to sleep or something like that, but honestly, I couldn’t make much sense of half of what he was saying, probably because his accent was awful. Either way, definitely a dodgy scammer. Watch out!

Got a call on my home phone from a woman with an accent, the line was crackly. She claimed to be from Microsoft and said my computer licence had been triggering alerts for a couple of months. I told her to send me the info and I'd take care of it. Then she said I wasn’t clearing the warnings and told me to turn on my PC. I fibbed and said it was already on, even though it wasn’t. She asked what appeared on my screen and what key was next to the Ctrl button on my keyboard! I called her out as a scammer trying to get access to my PC for dodgy reasons, but she kept saying my computer was in danger. I just ended the call and haven’t heard from her since.

Got a call on my landline from a bloke with an Asian accent claiming he was from my service provider Microsoft, telling me my computer had been hacked. I told him straight up that Microsoft isn’t actually my provider. Then I asked where he was calling from, and he gave some London address. I played along and asked what the weather was like there, which made him suspicious. When I said I thought he was a scammer, he gave me some "certificate number" for my PC and told me to log in while he waited. Of course, I didn’t do a thing and he ended up waiting ages! Eventually he hung up, only to call back and say he was shutting down my account and blocking my computer, then wished me a nice day. Feels good knowing I wasted his time. This little game really amuses me.
