I got a call from some bloke saying he was ringing about an accident I supposedly had. I told him that I wasn’t involved in any crash and nicely asked to be taken off whatever list they had me on. Then I mentioned my number was on the TPS register - well, actually, I said TSP by mistake. He jumped on that with the rudest and most condescending tone ever. I couldn’t help myself, said something a bit cheeky back, and then just ended the call.

I keep getting calls from this number, yet when I finally picked up, there was dead silence on the other end before they abruptly hung up. Strangely enough, I could hear some chatter in the background, just like others have mentioned. What’s the deal with that?

I found myself in a minor car crash recently, and then I received a call from this number. I didn’t pick up initially, but my curiosity got the better of me, so I rang them back. There was a chap on the other end discussing the incident, asking for details about the other driver and wanting to hear my account of what happened. It seemed like they were part of a team that handles accident claims or something similar, though it certainly wasn’t Direct Line, which is my insurer. Quite an odd experience, I must say!
