Some guy said he was calling from Auto Assistance in Glasgow. He couldn’t tell me the postcode of the office but mentioned something about Woodside Business Centre. He said his name was Michael Grayson and had a kind of soft American accent. He wanted to see if I’d got my cheque for an accident. Said he got my number from UK Insurance Group. I don’t even drive, so it was obviously a scam. Don’t give them any info, total dodgy call.

Got an automated call from this number saying it was HMRC. They told me to 'press 1' or I'd be arrested soon for some tax fraud stuff. Sounds dodgy to me.

Got a call earlier from 0141 769 0038 claiming to be from Auto Assess, saying I owed £1800 as some kind of payout for a recent car accident. I asked the guy’s name, he said "James Harvey", then I asked for his manager’s name, he said "Dave". When I pressed for Dave's surname, he said he didn’t know. I then asked for a callback number and he gave me 0141 345 0910. Seems totally dodgy to me. Watch out.

Got a call claiming to talk about my recent crash, seemed like they were trying to get info out of me. I reported it to my insurer (Direct Line) since they had way too much info for it to be just a random cold call!

Got a call today about a recent accident they said I had, claiming to have a file about it and that it wasn’t my fault. Thing is, I haven’t been in any accident, but I played along for a bit. The bloke said it was some legal issue and I had to pay a fee to get compensation. I told him alright, gave him some fake card details to see what he’d do, and when he got all excited, I said, “5410 swipe it up your [email protected] cheek, mate.” Total daft scam, just like those dodgy gas men from years back. Proper scammers.

Absolute nightmare! I've been getting calls from these lot for years, always asking for a Mrs Fergusson. I've told them time and again I’m the only one who's lived in this house since it was built 50 years ago. Every time I ask them to remove me from their list, but nothing changes. I’m so bloody fed up with it. Weirdly, I’m on a Virgin phone line now and had the same hassle on my old Virgin number, but never got a single call when I was with BT or Sky.

I received a call from this number, which is quite nearby, so I decided to pick up. They claimed to represent a Scottish energy firm collaborating with the Government's energy-saving initiative, offering to replace my boiler if it was over ten years old. The offer sounded appealing at first, but I thought it best to do a quick search on the number afterwards. I certainly won't be picking up if they ring back to set a visit. That was a narrow escape! I'm a bit worried that I may have shared too much information already... Fingers crossed it won't come back to haunt me.

someone rang me today 2/9/15 asking for my mum or dad by their last name. well, considering i'm 75 years old, pretty unlikely they're around! i just told them, "sorry, they're no longer with us" and ended the call. probably just another boiler scam!

Energy advice place for Scotland wouldnt give me their address, just said it was a call centre and wouldn't tell me who they are. First they said they had to ask about my boiler before answering anything. They keep ringing me every day or every other day for weeks now, and seem to have both my landline and mobile numbers.

I've had two phone calls from this number today. The first lot identified themselves as Sunedison and were keen on providing complimentary solar panels. Then, the same number rang again, this time from an outfit claiming to be the Energy Advice Centre for Scotland, insisting they could help with free boiler scrappage. When I probed a bit, the second caller claimed they retrieved my details from the Scottish Government. I must admit, I find that quite dubious.
