Got a call around 1pm today, on the bank holiday Monday. The person said they were from some energy advice firm. I told them I don’t entertain random calls like that. Then he went and told me not to be a c##t. That could really frighten older folks!

I keep getting calls from this really pushy person trying to sell me heating tips and then tries to push a boiler on me. Despite being on the TPS and having my number ex-directory, I still get around four spam calls every single day. Pretty sure they’re just buying up lists and ringing whoever they can. This morning alone, 01412800071 called me twice, first thing, all about a boiler. It’s so annoying!

I got a call from someone claiming to be Heating Advice Scotland. Turns out it was a scam, they just want your personal info. Best thing to do is just hang up straight away and don't respond at all.

got a call today from 0155445889, sounded like one of those usual recorded messages pushing solar panels or something. weirdly, their number wasn’t blocked this time, usually it's hidden. it gave me a thought, i hope the tps will crack down on these sorts of calls soon. the number looks like it might be from france but if the authorities act on bogus orders, they might be able to track these fraudsters down.

I've been receiving some rather unfriendly calls lately from a supposed Heating Advice service, insisting they had a boiler to offer me. It’s infuriating, especially as I’ve registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) and my number is ex-directory, so I shouldn’t be on the receiving end of these incessant calls. Yet here I am, on the brink of four nuisance calls a day! I'm beginning to suspect that these companies are just buying up phone number lists and ringing anyone they can, willy-nilly. Just this morning, I've already had two calls, the first from 01412800071, also pushing a boiler. The other number’s 01413452336. It’s getting a bit ridiculous!

I received a voicemail, though it seems the individual on the other end wasn’t quite aware they were leaving one. Quite unprofessional, regardless of who you are-seems like a young lad, perhaps? Not that it matters much to me! They feigned attending to another call, mentioning someone named Mrs Lockhart. How peculiar-no one was on the line! Then, I heard an exclamation of "for goodness' sake," which really isn’t the sort of language one ought to use, especially involving the name of a deity. Very off-putting, to say the least! I've had numerous calls from this number wanting to speak to someone called Mr Shaw. Every time I explain that there's no one here by that name, they just cut off the line without so much as a 'thank you'. Strangely, they keep ringing back the following day without fail. I received a phone call from this number, and the person on the other end was inquiring about my dearly departed mother! I told him she had passed away, yet he persisted in asking for my name. I was infuriated and had to press him repeatedly to find out who he was. After some back and forth, he revealed the name of his organisation. He initially claimed to represent a government initiative offering financial aid for boiler improvements and the like. It seems like this is just a company masquerading as a government advice service to drum up business. The caller identified themselves as Energy Grants Scotland.

I got a call at 6:16pm, but the person on the other end didn’t seem to notice I’d picked up and kept me listening to some hold music for a good couple of minutes before she realised she was actually speaking to someone. Then she asked if I was Mr James, or if Mr or Mrs James were around. I just told her I had no idea who that was and I’m not Mr James. After that, she just hung up straight away. She didn’t say anything about what company she was from, what they do, or why they were even calling.

Rang me at 18:16, but it seems the person on the line was blissfully unaware that I had picked up! I was subjected to an annoying minute or so of hold music until it finally clicked for her that I was indeed there.
