There’s this firm named ‘Octopus Energy’ which looks genuine, they even have a proper website. But I have no clue how they got hold of my phone number. With GDPR rules coming into effect, I decided to question the lady on the line about how they obtained my info and whether they had consent to call me. She seemed stumped and didn’t really know how to answer since it was off script. I told her I could report them to the ICO because they might be breaking some serious regulations!

This number has been ringing me daily for like three months now. I usually never pick up calls from numbers I don’t know, especially if they don’t bother to leave a voicemail. If I get a call from a number I dont know, I usually dont pick up. If they dont leave a voicemail, I just figure it wasnt important. I look up the number on this site and if its some annoying telemarketer or scammer, I save it on my phone starting with X and a number after it. Like the last one was X7. Before, I used to label them Scammer 1, 2, 3 and so on, but I got mates with names starting with S so I switched it to X instead. Luckily, no mates of mine have names beginning with X!
