some bloke with a thick accent rang up saying it was about a boiler grant, and somehow he already knew our names.

i didnt hear a word from the caller, they just hung up right after my answer machine said “i dont answer to nuisance calls anymore.” really they shouldn’t be ringing me at all since i’m ex-directory and on the TPS. honestly, these people should be facing legal action.

When I finally picked up, there was a pause before a bloke with an accent, struggling a bit with his English, said he was ringing from some green energy company about my boiler and checking if I could get a government grant. Pretty clear it was a dodgy scam.

Got a call from 1 280 4201, some bloke who told me I’m vulnerable and tried to sell me boiler repairs. Thing is, this number’s from Glasgow and I’m way down in the Midlands, so why would he wanna make such a long journey? Felt a bit off to me.
