They’ll ring you at any hour, throwing calls from like 3 or 4 different phone numbers. I suspect they buy up dodgy debts cheap and chase the full amount. I've probably got an outstanding credit card debt with Lloyds TSB, even though I shredded that card years ago, maybe 3 or more. A couple of years back, I contacted Lloyds to check if I owed them anything and they said no. These lot work like this: first, they’ll send a letter pretending to be from the original creditor. Next, a letter that’s quite threatening in tone. If they get your mobile, they might fire off automated texts too.
