Got a call from Glasgow really early, like 5:30 in the morning. My phone is always on Do Not Disturb, so they must have kept ringing to get through and make my phone ring. When I finally picked up, I could hear someone but they said nothing. I just hung up. They’ve called me twice more since then and left voicemails, but no words again. Woke me up again the next morning at the same time. I’ve decided to block the number now.

Called me 5 times this week. Never left a voicemail except for the last call, which was loads of Indian/Pakistani talk about repaying money to a bank card.

The call came from a Glasgow number. The person knew my first name and said they would be in the area tomorrow to fit smart meters. I told them that someone from dghp already came to check my meter yesterday and said it was all good. She replied that Boost are putting in meters that don’t need keys or cards. I told her I wanted to keep using my key and card and then ended the call.

The woman didn’t say who she was, but somehow knew my first name (how's that possible?). She claimed to be from Boost and said folks nearby were getting smart meters fitted. I’m not even with Boost (but I wanted to confirm that anyway). She asked how I usually top up, I told her I use direct debit and said I needed to check some stuff with my energy provider before deciding about a smart meter (which I obviously wasn’t going to do) and then ended the call. Pretty sure it’s some kind of scam, but for what exactly? Breaking in and stealing stuff maybe? No idea.

Got a call from this number saying they were from Boost and that they’d be installing smart meters nearby tomorrow. I told them I already had smart meters fitted for gas and electric by Boost just yesterday! Then she just hung up on me. When Boost calls from India, they usually use a Bristol area code number.

I've never come across Boost Energy before, and I certainly don’t have any dealings with them regarding my utilities or anything else for that matter. So it baffles me why they’d be ringing me up or how they obtained my information. They initially called from a withheld number, then followed up with this one-seems like they were trying to see if I’d answer. Most likely, it’s just a dodgy scammer trying their luck!

This number has reached out to me on countless occasions, and on one particular instance, I actually picked up the phone! The caller was purporting to be from Boost Energy, attempting to set up an appointment for a smart meter installation. However, I haven't received any prior communication from Boost about this, so I'm inclined to believe it's a scam. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!
