This number just gave me a bell, but the message I received is quite peculiar compared to the others. It said something along the lines of, "We've got an exhilarating new opportunity awaiting you, please contact Mr. Thompson at 01412283055 and mention the reference number." Seems pretty dodgy to me, likely a scam trying to entice us to call back? Best of luck to you all!

Give this a whirl if you're in the mood for a bit of mischief-dial 141, then the number, and switch your phone to private. Just sit back and enjoy their bewilderment! What a lovely way to get your own back-just make sure you’ve got a spare moment and that calling those landlines doesn’t cost you a penny. Honestly, they might begin to understand how vexing it is when everyone decides to ring them back and play mute. Who knows, with enough folks doing this, we could send them packing! Here’s to the little guys! Cheers, ALPHAMAN!

Just like John mentioned moments ago, it seems that when you’ve got a debt passed over to them, the wisest move is to consider going down the CCCS path and establishing a debt management plan. Wishing all the best to everyone out there. Here’s hoping that things turn around for you soon!

Isn't it high time that establishments like this one get flagged to the relevant authorities?

I recently encountered an absolute shambles with their voicemail service, which bizarrely left a message for my partner. After having been with Payplan for a couple of years, Barclays Wife Finance decided to offload my partner’s Jessops account to AIC. At least BPF was decent enough to let me know who I was being handed over to. Seems Payplan needs to sort things out with them, so I’m intending to disregard any of their phone calls, especially since the ringing sounded muddled, they mangled my surname, and the number they called from has now been blocked. What a palaver!

I've encountered AIC - Allied International Credit, and I must say, their conduct leaves much to be desired. They come across as rather overbearing and quite discourteous for a team dealing with customers. Yes, I do owe them a bit of cash, but a little bit of courtesy wouldn't go amiss, considering I’m the one keeping them in business!

Similar to what Susan experienced back in August 2008, we received a call today that turned out to be a pre-recorded voice. It was telling my partner to call back urgently, providing a name, number, and reference number. I’ve got a company that's managing my financial issues, and right after uncovering the identity of the caller through your site, she decided not to return the call.

Before deciding whether to engage with CCCS or Payplan, it's worth taking a gander at the Consumer Action Group website-particularly the threads in the Debt Collection Industry section. There’s a good chance that AIC won’t be able to produce any solid proof of the alleged debt. Remember, under the Consumer Credit Act of 1974, they have a legal duty to furnish evidence if the debt falls under that act, which, in the case of AIC, is quite probable. You’ll find plenty of insight on CAG regarding how all of this operates.

I had a call from them earlier today, but it went silent after a bit. We ended up hanging up just under half an hour later.

I completely understand how maddening these calls can be, especially as I’ve been inundated with them lately. I'm also working through a Debt Management Plan with CCCS, but unfortunately, I missed a payment last week, which triggered the phone calls. When these callers do ring, I've found it far more beneficial to engage with them directly; many of them are quite sympathetic and willing to assist. If you explain any hiccups in your DMP, they're usually quite accommodating and can pause your account for you. For anyone grappling with similar issues, I'd strongly recommend reaching out to CCCS or Payplan. Trust me, once you have a proper plan set up, life starts to feel a lot more manageable.

My husband received a call from this company today. It was an automated message insisting that it was urgent, as she had contacted them. We've had calls from these individuals in the past, but we’ve chosen to disregard them since our debts are managed by a trustworthy debt advisory service. Honestly, these callers are quite intimidating!

This company left us two messages urging our partner to get in touch with them immediately. However, after discovering their identity, we decided against returning the call. My debt management advisor advised me to either say nothing or simply state that we weren't around.

Just like John mentioned moments ago, when you've got a debt that’s been handed over to these folks, it’s advisable to consider the consumer routes and establish a debt management plan. Sending my best to all. Here’s hoping for positive changes in your lives in the near future!

Could anyone enlighten me on the identity of this caller?

We’re currently in the process of establishing an Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA), and these callers shouldn't really be reaching out to us at this point. One of their representatives phoned, eager to understand our situation, but we advised them to speak directly to our insolvency practitioner instead. Quite a cheek, really!
