Just had a call from 01398524762, some bloke shouting about my BT line being cut off in 5 days - absolute nonsense. I hung up on him quick. Then another one from 01803839688, no word said at all. Feels like they're all from the same dodgy bunch. Honestly, phone companies need to get their act together and stop this nonsense instead of making us have to block numbers or sign up to do-not-call lists. We never asked for these spam calls, and we pay for our lines expecting some protection! Time for the phone firms to seriously step up!

Just like loads of others, they got really annoyed when I said there’s no chance I’d go on any website to check. BT told me it was definitely a scam call. When will BT and the law actually start sorting these lot out?

Got a call earlier today from a bloke saying he was from BT saying my internet was going to be disconnected. I asked him for his number and he gave me an 0202 92926941. When I asked him to say it again, he gave me a completely different number. I told him he was a scammer and to stop ringing me. He kept going and said he could sort it out if I logged onto my computer. I just ended the call.

Got a call from an Asian lady saying she was with BT, warning me my internet would cut out in a couple of hours. I suspected it was dodgy, so I kept her on the line and told her I don’t actually have BT. She said she was aware of that but insisted it’s a BT line. I asked for her name and contact number so I could ring my provider back. After that, she went silent and then just ended the call.

Got a call from a lady with an Asian accent saying she was from BT, warning that my internet would be cut off for 10 days in an hour. When I asked why, she said lots of faults were coming from my router. Before I could ask more, she just hung up, even though I was polite and didn’t use any bad language. I’m guessing she noticed I’m actually with Virgin Media? Definitely a scam.

Earlier today (20/11/2017), we were contacted twice by telephone. The initial call was made by an individual with an Asian accent, who claimed that our internet connection would be disrupted for a period of five days due to error messages. Recognizing this as a scam, we promptly ended the call. Upon further investigation by inputting the phone number on Google, we were presented with confirmation of our suspicion regarding the fraudulent nature of the call. Subsequently, at 11:20 a.m., we received another call, during which I firmly informed the caller that this was indeed a scam and promptly terminated the conversation. Concerned about recurring calls of this nature, my husband reached out to BT (British Telecom) who have taken measures to block the aforementioned number from contacting us any further.

Got a call from an Indian bloke claiming to be from BT, saying my internet would be disconnected for 4 or 5 days, asking if that was okay. I told him I’d wait to hear from BT directly. While he was rambling on with loads of nonsense, I quickly searched his number online and guessed it was a scam. I like to keep them talking to see what they're up to. He handed me over to his “technical supervisor” who asked if my computer was Windows or Apple. Then he wanted to know if I used it for emails, which I said no to, and asked about banking - again, no. This number called me two times within just over 10 minutes. I didn't pick up because the caller ID showed 'unknown' (but luckily it also had the real number). After checking online and reading the reviews, I’m happy I just let it go to voicemail - which they didn't even bother to leave! With all the tech we have nowadays, it baffles me why the experts can't sort out these spam/scam/phishing calls. So frustrating! :(

I received a phone call from a lady with an Asian accent, which was quite strong. She claimed to be from the CPDP Technical group, or something similar (I didn't manage to jot down the exact name). According to her, my internet was going to be disconnected starting today. My response was a nonchalant "oh right." She then proceeded to repeat herself, as if I hadn't understood her initially. I reassured her that I had heard her the first time. At that point, she burst into laughter and abruptly ended the call! This was by far one of the strangest cold scam calls I've encountered. I truly wish they would leave me alone.

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent saying they were about to disconnect my internet service today. I said, "Really?" She said it again, and I told her I'd already got what she meant. Then she just laughed and hung up! Pretty weird. I've put this number on Facebook to warn my mates and also added it to several scam alert websites.

This afternoon, I received a call from a gentleman of Asian descent who claimed to represent BT. He informed me that my broadband service would be temporarily disconnected tomorrow morning due to necessary repairs. He then requested that I access my computer so he could address an issue. Naturally, I expressed my doubt regarding his affiliation with BT and promptly terminated the call.

PHONE NUMBER: 01398524762 Total scam alert! They said they were calling about an issue with my BT broadband - but I don’t have BT, my internet comes through a fibre provider. The moment I told them it was obviously a scam and I’m not with BT, the bloke with an Indian accent just hung up straight away!

Same here, some bloke said he was from BT, said my internet was gonna be cut off for 16 days because it was "unsafe". I kept him on the line for nearly 10 mins while I "fired up my laptop". He got proper annoyed when I told him I just use the internet for facebook! He goes, "You don’t use it for emails or online banking then?" I said no, so no bank details coming your way today. He just hung up. ;D

He said, "This is (long pause like he was searching the name) Alan from BT about your internet - we've had reports from users online." Didn't let him finish before the bit where they try to scam money. If anyone from the police or BT see this, please do something about these fraudsters.

3rd Nov 2017 - 0139524762. Got yet another annoying call from various numbers around 9 to 10 in the morning nearly every day. I usually just let it ring out 'cos they hang up as soon as the answerphone picks up. Today I actually picked up, thinking it might be a family member who’s been unwell. The caller just hung up straight away. I signed up for BT’s phone preference service but it’s completely pointless. Really fed up with these phone scams, it’s so frustrating how people misuse the phone like this.

Today, at 13:05 on the 2nd of November 2017, I received a phone call. After a brief pause, a woman with an Asian accent introduced herself as a representative from BT. I requested her to confirm her identity and she affirmed that she indeed worked for BT. Surprisingly, she informed me that my internet connection would be disconnected for a month. I promptly informed her that I didn't have an internet plan with BT. Suddenly, she simply terminated the call without any explanation.

Had a ring from someone claiming to be from BT. I asked for a number to ring back on, and he said 02032899604 but when I used 1471, it showed an entirely different number (01398524762) which I think isn’t even active anymore. He was meant to be helping me deal with internet scammers, but funny thing is, he turned out to be one himself!

Got a call from an Asian lady claiming she was from British Telecom, saying my broadband was gonna be suspended for six months due to weird activity. She said we weren’t officially with BT but that our provider was linked to them (we use Plusnet and she never mentioned that). I just let her keep talking until she eventually hung up on me.

This was a total scam, the person tried to get me to log into my PC and walked me through some steps to supposedly stop my internet being cut off for 10 days because of malware! The caller was Asian and kept going with their story, but I just ended the call. They rang me a few more times but I ignored it, then they called from a different number but I still didn’t pick up.

Got a call from some bloke with an Indian accent claiming to be from BT. He knew my last name and warned me my internet would be disconnected soon. Got a call from a woman claiming to be with BT’s tech support, saying I needed to stay by my device so their engineers could stop strangers from using my wifi without permission. I asked her if they already had my router password, and she said yes. Then I challenged her by asking, since she supposedly knew all about me from BT, what my actual BT user name was. She just cut the call dead on me! Proper cheeky. Definitely another scammer trying it on.

There was a persistent nuisance who called once or twice daily. Most often, they would remain silent on the other end. However, today, their frustration became evident as they persistently shouted "hello" multiple times, growing angrier and louder with each repetition. Eventually, a gentleman answered the call, at which point I swiftly ended the conversation by slamming down the receiver - hopefully causing some discomfort for the annoying individual.

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent who said his name was Mike Wilson. He told me my internet was under attack and that BT had to shut it off for five days. He said he’d ring me back. He gave me this number to call [0203 1208 9604] and a BT ID: BT116829. I tried to get in touch with BT, wanted to speak to their security team but couldn’t find the right number. Ended up trying their online chat and dozed off waiting for a reply.

This morning, around 10:00 am, a gentleman of Asian descent called my landline claiming to be named Harry. However, I ended the call as soon as he mentioned "broadband." I have a sneaking suspicion about a couple of things: firstly, this may be a scam; and secondly, it could be a part of a criminal gang attempting to assess whether I am home for potential burglary purposes.

I got a call from someone saying they were with BT and had my dad's name. They told me there was some strange stuff happening with our internet and wanted me to open TeamViewer on my work computer.
