Got a call from someone pretending to be BT, warning me my phone line was under threat. They had me visit a website where they "showed" proof of the hacking, then persuaded me to install a programme that let them take control of my computer. While logged into my online banking, they shuffled funds about between my accounts (didn't take any money out entirely). They claimed this was to demonstrate fraudulent activity, saying the bank manager was involved. Finally, they told me to transfer my savings to a different account they provided, supposedly for security reasons.

Got a call from 01395 782640, some Indian woman claiming to be from BT technical support - total nonsense. I just ended the call straight away. Why the heck does BT let these scammers get hold of my number all of a sudden? Ever since I got broadband installed last month, these scam calls have been non stop, nearly every day now. Proper annoying!

BT's call blocker stopped this one for me, probably wasn't a genuine number anyway.

Got a call saying there was some issue with my internet, but I’m certain there isn’t. When I questioned why he wasn’t ringing from a BT 0800 number, he claimed he was from the BT tech team. Didn’t buy it at all, so I ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

Just like loads of folks here, got a call from an Asian lady claiming to be from BT, popping up with some classic internet issue tale. She was going on about hackers spying on my online stuff. I told her, being the sharing kinda bloke I am, I didn’t mind ‘em having a look. She seemed a bit flustered after that and warned me my internet would be switched off in 49 days, then just hung up on me. Well, that was a right amusing five minutes!

This bloke claimed he was from BT tech support or something, sounded like he was just reading a script. Totally a scam, no doubt about it.

Got a call from a number saying it was BT, but it was blocked again. Honestly, it feels pointless because they just switch to a different number and try again. BT really needs to do something about this mess. Scam calls are growing so much now, they outnumber real calls by at least three to one, making me answer every call short and sharp since it’s usually just another scammer.
