9 yearsI received a call from these individuals purporting to be from BT Openreach last Thursday morning, 17th August 2017. Initially, there was silence, then a woman with an Asian accent began speaking. She claimed they were reaching out to individuals whose accounts had been compromised due to a security incident involving BT landlines. Her manner was overly forceful and rather defensive. Before I knew it, I was transferred to a male associate who matched her accent and temperament. He tried to guide me through some steps for revealing error reports on my computer. I found the entire exchange quite irritating and remarked that I preferred to manage my own affairs if I suspected any issues, also expressing that these unsolicited calls were a nuisance to me and many others.
