This number called me on my phone but there wasn’t a name showing so I had no idea who it was. When I answered and asked who’s speaking, the bloke asked me who I was instead. I told him he was the one who called me, so what’s your name? Then he just hung up. I’ve blocked the number now.

Got a call from South West Water, saying there was a refund for me that couldn’t be put back on my card. They said they could send a cheque or try a bank transfer if I gave them a different card number, which I wasn’t about to do. I’m planning to ring them back on their official phone number instead. The message was from Bournemouth Water, who seem linked to South West Water under Pennon, and mentioned a technician had visited and asked me to ring back on 03333 219098, which feels like it might be a pricey number. Not sure if it's legit or a scam. If it's serious, they'll probably try again.

Really was South West Water on the phone - I didn’t share any personal details and they didn’t ask for any, they already had my bank info and contact details and just sorted out some official changes to my payment plan with them. They were quite polite and straightforward about it. I did mention I’d read the news a couple days ago about their environmental mess ups, seems like they often come up with excuses instead of fixing the pollution problems, but at least my call today went smoothly and was positive.
