Got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC, but the line was all crackly and sounded like it came from an Indian call centre. They were asking for my personal info, so I just ended the call straight away.

Got a call that sounded like a creepy robot, saying it was HMRC. Proper unsettling and robotic tone.

Totally with everyone else on this - it’s definitely a scam. Got a voicemail from someone claiming to be HMRC, and they came across really pushy and threatening. Best thing to do? Just ignore it, block the number, and delete the message!

Got a call from a robotic voice claiming to be from HMRC. Totally sketchy, sounded fake as hell. Didn’t trust it for a sec.

total scam alert. got a robocall claiming to be from hmrc, some bloke named dennis or something similar. received the exact same recording from two different phones today! tried ringing back but no luck at all. if it’s really hmrc, they already know my info and can verify me properly. when i did finally get someone on the line, their english was poor and it didn’t sound legit at all. now i’ve blocked both numbers, including one that started with 01273251900. stay clear!

Just got a call from what said was HMRC, some voice saying not to ignore the message. The display showed Exeter as the origin. Definitely sounded like one of those clever scams.

Looks like a total scam, don’t ring them back or they might charge you. Sounds like some foreigner trying to get money for a new BMW or something.

This seems like it could be some sort of scam but I’m not totally sure since no one picks up when I ring back. I got a voicemail from an automated voice on my mobile, saying something about legal trouble. Dunno what info they want from me - maybe it’s just to log the numbers that try calling them. Every time I try to call back, the call gets blocked or rejected.

total scam! got a voicemail from this number and when i rang back it sounded like some call centre in india. i ended up speaking to a guy called alex parker and they said the call was from exeter, england. the voicemail was supposedly from some officer named dennis grey. i immediately contacted hmrc who told me it’s definitely a scam. if anything like this happens to you, make sure you report it to hmrc right away - trust me, it’s a scam!

Just got a call from someone pretending to be a HMRC officer, left a voicemail saying it’s urgent and time sensitive. Looks like another scam to me, definitely going to report it to HMRC. Avoid these dodgy calls!
